IS SHE IN A COLOR THAT’S NOT DOUR?!? Angelina Jolie is in pink! Impending divorce has really brightened her outlook, huh?
Angelina Jolie premiered her new film, First They Killed My Father (sounds like a light-hearted rom-com), in Siem Reap, Cambodia this weekend. She brought all of the children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and the soon-to-be-deposed twin messiahs Knox and Vivienne, 8. The Jolie-Pitt kids are GROWN. Remember when Maddox was just a little skate rat glaring at Billy Bob Thornton to leave? Check them out in the tweet below.

People reports that Maddox and Pax worked on the film with their mother. Maddox was reportedly in on production meetings and made notes on the script, and Pax took stills on the set. Hey, these kids need to get jobs and help out. Divorcing Bong Hit Brad ain’t cheap!
Angie spoke to the audience, which included the Cambodian royal family, and referenced the connection she feels with the country.
“I cannot find words to express what it means to me that I was entrusted with telling part of the story of this country,” she said. “This film was not made to focus on the horrors of the past, but to celebrate the resilience, kindness and talent of the Cambodian people.
“Most of all, this film is my way of saying thank you to Cambodia,” she continued. “Without Cambodia I may never have become a mother. Part of my heart is and will always be in this country. And part of this country is always with me: Maddox.”
Maddox also spoke (which featured a guest verse by the very dapper Shiloh. In Cambodian! These kids are advanced. I can barely speak my mother tongue – “Lazy, Complacent American“):
Maddox himself took center stage when he spoke to audience, saying:
“Thank you everyone for attending tonight. We finally made it. It’s a great honor to present this film to all of you, and to stand by my mother and my family. And now I’d like to introduce my little sister Shiloh, as she has something to say.”
Little Shiloh then stepped up to the microphone and told the crowd in Khmer: “My name is Shiloh and I love Cambodia.”
Maddox then got back on the mic to say “And I’d also like to thank Jennifer Aniston, ’cause that desperate heifer has provided us with hours of amusement which we needed since our mom is always getting us woke about these really heavy subjects.” I kid. Maddox saves the Jen trolling for his Snapchat.
Angie’s appearance (she’s really embracing the Morticia Adams, is that a white streak I see in her mop?) at a press conference about the film earlier in the day was her first since her and Brad Pitt’s marriage died in the Flight 666 disaster. The film, about the atrocities committed by the country’s Khmer Rouge communist party in the 1970s, probably won’t be a nominee at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
Based on the autobiography of the same name by Cambodian human-rights activist Loung Ung, a friend of Jolie’s, First They Killed My Father tells the true story of the devastation inflicted on Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge communist party in the 1970s.
More than two million people, out of a total population of seven million, were killed during the purge, including Ung’s father, mother and two sisters. “The heart of it is Loung’s story, it’s the story of a war through the eyes of a child, but it is also the story of a country,” Jolie said in a promotional clip for the film.
I’m sure that the Jolie-Pitt kids still get to watch Minions and shit in between sobering documentaries about everything wrong with the world. Right? “Avenging global wrongs is important and everything, Mommy, but can we go to Trampoline World this weekend?” – Angie’s kids.
