Nicole Kidman Was Engaged To Lenny Kravitz Once

Two years after Nicole Kidman finally escaped the clutches of Scientology divorced Tom Cruise, there was a rumor that she was dating Lenny Kravitz. This was back in 2003 before famous people filled their thirst quotient by debuting their relationships on social media. Nicole never really confirmed that she got with Lenny, but they were papped together a bunch of times and people just put two and two together. Now we know their relationship was a lot more serious than just some T9 booty call texts sent on a Motorola Razr at 1am.

Nicole did the upcoming HBO miniseries Big Little Lies with Lenny’s daughter Zoë Kravitz. Nicole was recently interviewed about BLL by Net-A-Porter’s The Edit, and they talked about how the actresses in the show knew each other from various projects before they started shooting. Nicole confessed that she knows Zoë especially well because she was almost her stepmother.

“Well, I knew Zoë because I was engaged to her father. It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he’s a great guy.”

Nicole admitted during an interview with Vanity Fair in 2007 that she had been engaged to someone before she married Keith Urban in 2006, but she wouldn’t say to whom. It looks that mystery is solved. Nicole and Lenny stopped being a thing in 2004, but she doesn’t say why. It probably wasn’t that dramatic, since they’ve been seen acting like friends since then.

I can’t believe we’re hearing about Nicole and Lenny’s almost-marriage 14 years later. That’s got to be some kind of celebrity secret record. Honestly, I sort of wished Nicole had kept it a secret. All I can think of is the type of boho lizard king tour bus acid trip couture fantasy they would have worn on their wedding day, and I’m just getting too bummed out thinking about what never was.

Here’s Nicole (wearing a hat that looks like it was swiped as a post-fuck souvenir from Lenny’s house) filming Untouchable with Bryan Cranston in NYC yesterday.
