Open Post: Hosted By Erika Jayne’s Video For “XXPEN$IVE”

If you watched all 15 hours of the Grammys on Sunday and wondered whatever happened to music artistry, the answer is: it exists on Erika Jayne’s Vevo channel!

Erika Jayne, the songstress altar ego of the only semi-sane Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Erika Girardi, caused retinas and eardrums to combust when she released her video for How Many Fucks? Retinas and eardrums exploded from the talent of it all, of course. Erika Jayne is back with another candy-coated jewel. Today, she released the video for XXPEN$IVE, which is a deep musical commentary on consumerism, or something.

This video looks straight out of Vh1’s modern day reboot of Valley of the Dolls where Neely O’Hara is a trophy wife/aspiring pop star/reality star. Erika Jayne is like a modern day Anna Nicole Smith (sans all the drugs and sad stuff) and has almost as much natural vocal talent as Bravo’s premiere chanteuse Kim Zolciak. If you watch RHoBH, you’ll notice the luxurious sets since the shooting of this video was featured on an episode. And after you notice the sets, you’ll probably ask yourself, “What am I doing with my life?

But really, Erika Jayne’s video has better production values than the videos of most pop tricks out there, and this song sounds something that the two bottom queens on RuPaul’s Drag Race would lip-synch for their lives to. And that is one of the highest honors in the entertainment industry.

And here’s Erika Jayne posing amongst the lessers at the Grammys on Sunday:
