Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Will Reportedly Be The Most Expensive One Ever

CNBC says that the NFL is dropping $10 million on the budget for Lady Gaga’s halftime show. And that makes her halftime show the most expensive Super Bowl halftime show in history. Lady Gaga has a tendency to make any production budget look like a trip to Michael’s Crafts with a gift card and a coupon. But this time she might actually need all that money for her performance.

It’s rumored that she’s planning some major showtime stunts, like dropping in from the ceiling of the NRG Stadium in Houston. Unless she’s working with Hope & A Prayer Productions, there’s no way Gaga could safely rig something up like that using $10 worth of double-sided titty tape, hat bands and ropes woven from strands of bleached wig hair.

Luckily, the NFL won’t have to use any of that $10 million budget to clean up the field after thousands of pissed-off football fans throw their beers onto the field while Gaga makes a statement about Trump. There was a rumor that the NFL told Gaga not to get political during her halftime show. They later denied that and gave Gaga the thumbs-up to be as political as she wanted. Well, her performance won’t be political at all. A source tells Entertainment Weekly that Gaga was never interested in making her performance a political one, and that it was “never even a conversation.

The NFL can waste its money any way it wants to, and if they want to throw $10 million at Lady Gaga’s performance, that’s fine. Just as long as they spend a good chunk on Tony Bennett’s pre-taped video introduction. I’d hate for the NFL to cheap out and use some flimsy supports for the screen they use to play his introduction, causing it to collapse in the middle of the stage. He almost went down at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, he doesn’t need a repeat at the Super Bowl.
