The World Will Not Be Further Traumatized By The Image Of Joseph Fiennes As Michael Jackson

When it was first announced early last year that Joseph Fiennes was going to play Michael Jackson in some British TV thing about the rumored magical road trip that MJ, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando went on after the 9/11 attacks, there was outrage over a white actor doing blackface, err whiterface, to play MJ. But Sky Arts went through with the fuckery anyway and the result gave us the retina-burning sight of Joseph Fiennes looking like a melting white chocolate Kinder egg in a $1.99 wig.

A quick minute after Sky Arts released the trailer for Urban Myths, Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson said on Twitter that it grossed her out and left her highly offended. The outrage from Michael Jackson’s family was enough for Sky Arts to torch that episode of Urban Myths along with that prosthetic mask Joseph Fiennes wore.

The Guardian says that the episode that was supposed to air in April has been officially killed. Sky Arts tweeted this out:

We have taken the decision not to broadcast “Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon,” a 30 minute episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series. This decision was taken in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson’s immediate family. We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events & never intended to cause any offense. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.

“Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision” = Joseph Fiennes already cashed our check and used it to pay his mortgage so he don’t give a fuck.

When Oprah interviewed MJ a million years ago, she brought up a rumor about how he wanted a white kid to play him in a Pepsi commercial. Michael said in that interview that the story was a lie and he’s proud to be a black American, and went on to say that it’s like Oprah wanting an “oriental” to play her.

Now, why do I have a feeling that Sky Arts will soon burp up this press release:

Sky Arts is proud to announce that we will replace the Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon episode of Urban Myths with an episode about Oprah and Gayle King’s alleged pussy-bumping way. And in that episode, the role of Oprah will be played by Margaret Cho and the role of Gayle King will be played by Lucy Liu!
