Yesterday a video of what looked like a cell phone exploding in CeeLo Green’s face was making the rounds. Was it real? Did he die? Has he been educated on what consent means? We have the answers! No, it wasn’t real. Yes, CeeLo Green is alive. Unfortunately, that last question still wasn’t answered and I would still keep an eye on your drink when you’re around him, ladies.
CeeLo posted a Facebook Live video (so he’s the one who’s using it) last night in which he explained that the footage was all part of a new Gnarly Davidson project he’s working on.
“I just want to let everybody know that I am alive, and I’m well and I’m OK,” CeeLo said in the clip.
“Truthfully, I’m really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today,” he continued.
If by “emotionally disturbed,” you mean “laughing their asses off,” ok. Was that just me? Er, I laughed AFTER I knew he was ok. I swear. Feminists worldwide were all choked up, I’m sure. CeeLo seemingly getting his face torched by faulty technology is part of a project that sounds like a follow-up to his old gig, Gnarls Barkley.
“Actually, what you saw today was a clip from a smaller video that we were shooting for a new project I’m doing called Gnarly Davidson. It’s supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity, you know what I’m saying?” CeeLo explained.
“I’m still gonna release the music, though,” he added. “But first and foremost, for everybody that love me and care about me, I just want to say that I’m OK … I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern.”
Will he drop a “A Cell Phone Melted My Face Off” remix of the sure-to-be-a-hit Gnarly Davidson track? As a viral video attempt to promote his ass, this was odd. When CeeLo goes stunt queen, he does it in a weird way, huh? Someone posted his “I’m not dead” video on YouTube and you can watch it below.
