Robert Durst Claims He Was High On Meth During “The Jinx”

According to Robert Durst, you can add another layer of weird to his already weird saga, because he claims he was high on meth during  some of the filming for The Jinx. But again, this is according to Robert Durst, and those of us who watched The Jinx know you can’t really trust anything he says until he thinks his mic has been turned off.

In February 2015, HBO released the docu-series The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, which focused on 73-year-old Robert Durst’s connection to the disappearance of his wife Kathie Durst, and the murders of his friend Susan Berman in Beverly Hills and Morris Black in Texas. A month later, Robert was arrested in connection with the murder of Susan Berman in New Orleans. The Jinx provided new information that lead to police detectives looking at Robert Durst and thinking “Oh yeah, we’ve got this creep now.” The final episode ended with Robert being confronted with new evidence discovered by the documentarians, some very obvious handwriting matches. Robert, thinking his mic was turned off, went to the bathroom and confessed to himself that he “killed them all.

Since Robert’s main goal in life seems to get away with evil shit, he schemed up one whopper of an excuse for the stuff he said on The Jinx. Court papers from Robert’s March 15th arrest were released yesterday. The Los Angeles Times says that Robert spoke to prosecutors for three hours and claimed that he was high on meth during his interviews with Andrew Jarecki. I challenge you to not read this next part without picturing Robert burping every third word.

“I was on meth, I was on meth the whole time…it should have been obvious. I think the reason I did it had to be because I was swooped, speeding.”

Robert also says he never tried to flee the country before The Jinx aired because he was suffering from “inertia” and that he really didn’t think he was ever going to get arrested. When asked if he would tell police if he had killed Susan, he responded “no.

For reference, this is what a methed-out Robert Durst supposedly sounds like.

Who knows with Robert Durst, but his meth excuse does make sense as to why he said that in the bathroom. Robert must have glanced at his reflection in the mirror and in his methed-out state he confused it for The Devil, and decided to have a little chat with one of his oldest friends.
