Consider “Shameless” On Lockdown Until Emmy Rossum Gets Paid

Emmy Rossum, who plays Fiona Gallagher on Showtime’s tv show Shameless, wants to get paid as much as her co-star William H. Macy. Until that happens, we’re not getting an eighth season of trashy family adventure. Until the Showtime execs drop some coin in her piggy bank, the show will be as frozen as the cold Chicago winter (er, that’s where the show takes place)!

The Hollywood Reporter says that Emmy doesn’t just want the same amount of cash per episode as the guy from Fargo who plays her drunk-ass father on the show, she wants reparations!

Rossum, 30, who stars as the young Gallagher family matriarch Fiona on the hit series, not only is seeking salary parity with co-star William H. Macy, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter she is taking the position she should be paid more per-episode than Macy makes after years of earning much less than her Emmy-nominated co-star.

#GetMoneyFiona! William was considered “the get” when he signed on to the show, due to being a lauded film actor and having an Oscar nomination on his resume. He’s always been paid the most, and recently renegotiated his salary for Season 8, which puts it “in the upper echelon of cable dramas (which looks to be around a “Kevin Spacey)?”

While the rest of the cast would probably benefit if Emmy gets hers, they might not be writing “GET PAID, EMMY” out of push pins on their vision boards just yet.

Sources say if Rossum closes her deal, producer WBTV then will renegotiate with the remainder of the cast, including Jeremy Allen White (Lip), Cameron Monaghan (Ian) and Steve Howey (Kevin). If she can’t close a deal, Showtime could choose to renew the show without her or cancel it.

But what does this mean for my favorite dirtbag on the show, Mickey Milkovich? I know, there’s a lot of dirtbags on Shameless. I know he’s only recurring, but he’s sort of become my television boyfriend. Stop looking at me like my husband does when I verbalize that!

Variety is reporting that Emmy has received equal pay, but is holding out for the retroactive checks.

Sources close to the show tell Variety that months ago, the actress was offered pay parity with her co-star William H. Macy — but she is asking to be paid more.

A source tells Variety she has in fact been offered equal pay. But she is holding out for a bigger salary than Macy to make up for the previous seasons where she was making significantly less than him.

Oh, and speaking of Kevin Spacey, Emmy might have been inspired by the story of HIS co-star Robin Wright. When Robin found out that Kevin was getting paid more than her on House of Cards, she got hers! All she had to do was channel her terrifying character, Claire “Frosty Pussy” Underwood, and bad bitch the money out of those not-right Showtime execs. Bring Robin in, Emmy. Claire Underwood gets shit done! You do what Claire wants, or she’ll let your baby wither inside you.
