Selena Gomez Took 90 Days Off From Her Phone

Seen above waving goodbye to her high score on Candy Crush, Selena Gomez is continuing to talk about her Hollywood hiatus. Selena had been experiencing anxiety, depression and panic attacks, much of which was brought on by Lupus. She gave a highly crunchy interview to Thrive Global where she talks about the healthy hippie shit she’s into now, including taking a break from technology. via US Weekly:

“I recently took 90 days off,” the “Kill Em With Kindness” singer, 24, said. “During that time I did not have my cellphone. It was the most refreshing, calming, rejuvenating feeling. Now I rarely pick up my phone, and only limited people have access to me.”

(Cut to Justin Bieber sending an exploratory “yo” text and crying into his teddy when it bounces back.)

Selena joins Kendall Jenner in her anti-technology self-care, although Selena took a full phone break for 3 months and Kendall just shut off her Instagram for one week. Choices. And I guess that means that Selena was only reachable by landline for those 3 months which actually sounds…fine. It’s probably novel to someone who grew up on a Disney set.

This is all way too reasonable for a young celeb! I left my phone at home a couple weeks ago and within the hour I looked like a strung-out chihuahua, just bug-eyed and shaking. It’s not that I mind interacting with the “real world” it’s just that I have a very busy schedule. People count on me! If I don’t text my weed dealer a hundred pictures of the Slim Jim display at my bodega then who will?
