SNL Broke Character Last Night Because The Election Is Just That Gross

Amidst a week of even more negative revelations on both sides of the presidential election aisle (we’ll get to those in a moment), Saturday Night Live put on their final Donald Trump/Hillary Clinton cold open before election day on Tuesday. It was a little different than the usual “Trump is repugnant and clueless” and “Hillary is way desperate and thirsty” schtick.

Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon broke character to run out of the studio and (in a pre-taped segment) and embrace all walks of life in Time Square to try to heal our divided people. They ended with a plea for the audience to vote.

We can’t tell you who to vote for, but we all get to choose what kind of country we wan t to live in,” McKinnon said before the “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” intro.

Watch below:

As for the most recent details that make you want to pack up and move to a place where our political leaders are trustworthy and stable individuals who merely want to help usher in a golden age of peace and tranquility for their country (Who runs the Arctic? Is it really THAT uninhabitable?), FBI director James Comey revealed that Hillary Clinton’s e-mails are once again being investigated. A protester at a Trump rally claims he got his ass beat for holding a “Republicans Against Trump” sign. Plastic cat figurine and ironic anti-online bullying advocate Melania Trump allegedly modeled in the US before she got a work visa. And the Wall Street Journal had a story about the National Enquirer supposedly buying a story about “Orange You Wish You’d Never Heard Of This Creep” cheating on Melania in 2006 with a Playboy Playmate just to bury it because they’re supporting him for president.

I’m going to start drinking on Tuesday morning and not come up for sobriety until the next four years are over. Join me, won’t you?
