Taylor Swift Doesn’t Have Her Future Boyfriend Sights Set On Drake

October 27, 2016 / Posted by:

Taylor Swift didn’t spend the whole night of Drake’s 30th birthday party passively aggressively staring down Katy Perry and John Mayer. She also spent a lot of time “laughing” and “flirting” with the birthday boy himself. Page Six claimed that the only person who got more one-on-one time with Drake at his birthday party was his mama Sandi Graham. It all sounded a little too much like Taylor was attempting to add a non-threatening rapper to her long résumé of non-threatening boyfriends, but TMZ says that’s not happening.

Sources say that Drake introduced Taylor to Sandi on the night of his birthday party, but it was less of a “Mother, please say hello to my future wife” thing and more of a “Ma, this is my friend Taylor.” Drake and Taylor’s friendship goes as far back as the 2013 MTV VMAs. It also kind of makes sense that Drake and Taylor would be friends, since they both cash checks from Apple. Drake and Taylor don’t exactly hang out with each other regularly. And as far as the possibility of them banging goes, that’s a no for now. The sources say that Drake and Taylor are “close,” but just friends.

I don’t need TMZ’s sources to tell me that Taylor’s meeting with Drake’s mom meant nothing, because we all know that’s not the order Taylor does things. Meeting her man’s mom is the sort of thing Taylor likes to arrange after they’ve been “caught” kissing by the paps. And Drake isn’t serious about a girl until he’s scrawled her name in his Raptors notebook at least 1000 times.

Nobody knows what Drake’s mom and Taylor talked about that night, and we may never know. But I’m going to guess it went a little something like this:

Sandi Graham: “I wish my son would date a nice girl like you.

Taylor Swift: “That’s very sweet of you to say, Mrs. Drake, but your son has to go through the application process just like everyone else.
