RZA Has Released A Statement Defending Russell Crowe

Another voice has spoken up about the alleged moonshine-fueled messiness that happened in Russell Crowe’s room at the Beverly Hills Hotel last Saturday night. This time we’re hearing from the person responsible bringing human tornado Azealia Banks to Russell’s hotel room party, RZA. Shortly after the news broke of Russell and Azealia’s throwdown, sources were saying that RZA was corroborating Russell Crowe’s story that it was Azealia who was throwing around the n-word. RZA has released a statement on Facebook today confirming that, as well as his feelings on this whole situation. And not surprisingly, it sounds like he really regrets bringing Azealia Banks to that party.

RZA’s really long statement starts with him writing about how his relationship with Azealia began when he cast her as the title character in his film Coco back in 2015. He says he heard the rumors of Azealia’s fuckery, but he ignored them because “innocent until proven guilty.” Azealia ended up working out fine and they stayed friendly. RZA says that Azealia contacted him a few weeks ago for some financial help. He should have directed her to the nearest Wu-Tang Financial branch, but he didn’t. After he helped her out, he claims she asked for a record deal, a trip to Los Angeles, and a hotel, all of which RZA hooked her up with. This brings us to Russell’s party.

RZA claims Azealia was “loud and obnoxious” and was insulting half the room. Everyone put up with her rudeness until she threatened to cut a female guest. RZA claims she grabbed a glass and “physically attacked” the woman, at which point Azealia was “blocked” by Gladiator and kicked out.

As for Azealia’s accusation that Russell muttered the n-word under his breath, RZA says he didn’t hear that.

“THIS IS NOT A RACE OR GENDER ISSUE. I did not hear Russell call her a N::gg:::: I’m not trying to protect Russell from anything he is a man of his own Caliber. My art, talent and success speaks for it self and Azealia’s recent slander of me and self victimization reflect’s the personality of the person that was in that room that night.

I have a wife, daughters, sisters and females on my staff so I protect women everyday. I pray none of them ever behave the way I witnessed Azealia Banks behaved that night.”

RZA’s whole statement is here.

RZA got into a few more details with TMZ about what happened after Russell Crowe ejected Azealia from the party. RZA, who was out in the hallway with Russell and Azealia, claims she tried to get back into the room and that’s when Russell spit at her. RZA clarified that Russell didn’t so much as spit at her as he spit near her. RZA also says even though he was embarrassed by her actions, he’s “got love” for her.

Meanwhile, Azealia is keeping quiet. Just kidding! She’s been reading that fat old has-been Russell Crowe again, this time to UsWeekly.

“I’ve got youth and beauty, and he’s got beer belly and jowls! I got music. I got music, and I got youth….Your best days are behind you, Russell Crowe. Nobody’s checking for Russell Crowe right now.”

Azealia tells UsWeekly that she isn’t planning on pressing charges against Russell Crowe. Azealia says she doesn’t want any more media attention and wants to focus on putting her music out. Oh Azealia, I see your sense of humor is still just as hilarious as ever.
