Getting Pissed At A Coldplay Show Might Have Cost Bethenny Frankel A Job
Huh, I always thought that acting like a mess was the kind of thing that would land Bethenny Frankel a job, not lose her one. But I guess that only applies to Real Housewives appearances.
Last April, Bethenny got a limited-run weekly talk show on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM channel called B Real with Bethenny. On August 10th, Bethenny announced she was taking a summer break and would be back in the fall. Well, it’s definitely fall, and B Real with Bethenny still hasn’t returned. According to Page Six, it’s never coming back, and it’s all thanks to that drunk tantrum she threw at a Coldplay show in the Hamptons this summer.
Last month, Page Six reported that Bethenny had gotten drunk at a Coldplay show and brought a Bravo reunion show’s worth of drama when three women dared to block her view of Chris Martin. Bethenny complained, she tattled to a security guard, and she dumped a drink on them. Sources tell Page Six that once the decision makers at SiriusXM heard about Bethenny’s alleged rude bitch antics, they axed their plan to maker her show permanent talk show. Three days after Bethenny’s Coldplay meltdown, she announced that B Real was going on hiatus, which was a coincidence, I’m sure.
A SiriusXM spokesperson tells Page Six it’s not like that, or at least it’s only half like that. They insist that being a mess at a Coldplay show isn’t the reason B Real with Bethenny is currently sipping Skinnygirl cancelledtinis with the ghost of Bethenny. Yes, it’s true that B Real isn’t coming back, but that’s only because Bethenny is too busy. They claim they wanted to turn B Real into a daily show, but filming Real Housewives of New York City and business stuff was preventing her from making the time commitment needed.
A rep for Bethenny hasn’t said anything about this.
I believe SiriusXM when they say that Bethenny’s drunken drink-dumping outburst wasn’t the reason they didn’t pick up B Real as a full-time show. Who wouldn’t want five days a week worth of material from a mess like that? Personally, I think it probably came down to a non-compete clause in Jenny McCarthy’s contract guaranteeing her the position as SiriusXM’s number one mess.
