Ryan Gosling And Eva Mendes May Have Gotten Secret Married (UPDATE)
As the marriage of one famous couple implodes like a box of firecrackers that was set too close to the campfire, another famous couple has said “Fuck it, let’s try this marriage thing.” UsWeekly says that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are married. Not just that, they also claim they’ve been married for a while. I’m sure there’s a handful of McGosling die-hards out there who just shouted “Married to other people, right? Like, Ryan got secret married to a woman named Rachel? Right? RIGHT?!?” No, Ryan got married to the mother of his two kids, Eva Mendes. Sources tell UsWeekly that Ryan and Eva got secret married earlier this year in front of a small group of their family and friends. A source says they have always “felt married“, but they decided to go ahead and make that feeling legal. Ryan and Eva have been together for five years and have two children, 2-year-old Esmeralda Amada and 4-month-old Amada Lee. Both Ryan and Eva are beyond hush-hush when it comes to their personal life, so it’s not exactly surprising that they would tip-toe as quietly as possible into a marriage chapel.
What I’m more surprised about is that people were able to keep it quiet for so long. “Earlier this year” tells me they must have gotten hitched in like, February or March. That was months ago! And nobody let it slip until now? I wonder how they pulled off such secrecy. Maybe Ryan approached everyone involved, from the person who filed the marriage license to Eva’s chattiest aunt, and wooed them into silence by staring deep into their soul and whispering “Hey girl or guy. Can you keep a secret?” Of course, such smoothness is not going to work on all people, but Ryan doesn’t have to worry about them. Their traps probably stayed shut because they were too busy trying to place Ryan’s accent to remember what he was even saying.
UPDATE: TMZ is calling BS on UsWeekly’s story that Ryan and Eva are secret married to each other. A source tells them that Ryan and Eva didn’t exchange I Dos earlier this year and there was no secret wedding. I’d say someone should stop talking to sources and ask Ryan or Eva for the truth, but we all know we’re not going to get an answer from either of them.
Here’s a ring-less Ryan at TIFF last week. I zoomed in real close to see if I could detect a hint of band tan, but there’s none. He really is committed to the whole secret married thing.
