Calvin Harris Is Maybe Shading Taylor Swift Through His Latest Song

Something tells me Taylor Swift is not going to order a jacket with that patch on the back of it. Just a hunch.

Calvin Harris and Taylor broke up almost four months ago, and he’s still finding ways to pull her hair when they cross each other in the cool locker hall. Calvin came for Taylor on Twitter, he came for her on Instagram, he maybe-shaded her relationship with Tom Hiddleston in the video for “Olé“, he came for her again to British GQ. Now he’s maybe-hating on her in his latest song. As it turns out, there’s someone out there who can drag a breakup for attention longer than Taylor Swift.

Calvin released his latest single, “My Way“, last night, and it didn’t take long for people to raise an eyebrow and wonder just how many pages from his Burn Book were used to write the lyrics.

He doesn’t even really tease it, either. He straight-up opens with the image of him lying in bed next to a selfish two-faced meanie.

Why wait to say
At least I did it my way
Lie awake, two-faced
But in my heart I understand
I made my move
And it was all about you
Now I feel so far removed

Two-faced? All about you? Hmm…I wonder who that could be? But Calvin claims that he’s not necessarily talking about Taylor Swift. (He totally is, but go on.) He spoke to iHeartRadio (via E! News) about “My Way” shortly after it was released. According to Calvin, those lyrics could be about anything.

“[The] song’s kind of about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing. Then, you’re way more comfortable out of it. And it could be anything. It could be a job, or it could be a relationship. I had kind of the idea for the concept for a few years, but I didn’t know how to work out how it sounded.”

Oh Calvin, you shady bitch. Saying it might not be about Taylor is an even shadier slap than insinuating it is about Taylor. Nothing gets under Taylor’s Estée Lauder Pleasures-spritzed skin more than making a situation not be about her.
