Anne Hathaway Would Be Into Playing Catwoman Again

Jeez, take some downtime, Anne. Aren’t you already the hardest working ho in cinema? Every movie I see, her ass pops up. I swear I saw her in a Corbin Fisher scene the other day. (Spoiler alert: She’s a versatile top.) Anne Hathaway’s at the Toronto Film Festival, and she was asked whether she’d want to reprise her Catwoman role from The Dark Knight Rises in a solo film. Sure, I like large amounts of cash, Anne responded in more words than that during an interview at the Variety Studio.

“I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her,” Hathaway said. “I’m not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back.”

It’s true, they went from Nolan’s hyper-real (for a superhero movie) take on superheroes to…I can’t even with what’s happening now. Just move Wonder Woman to the alternate universe that is Marvel Studios, and we’ll be fine. I’ll go lie down on my nerd chaise now and try to focus on real world problems. Anne also mentioned being ok with passing the pussy baton on to the next gal.

“I don’t think you can,” she said. “It sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle [Berry] and from Michelle [Pfeiffer], and so I would do that the next time as well.”

By the way, Anne is promoting her new film, Colossal, at TIFF. It’s about an NYC party girl-type who gets dumped by her boyfriend and discovers that she has a psychic connection with a Godzilla-like monster terrorizing Korea. Um. That sounds next-level enough to see (and it’s getting good reviews).

Anne wasn’t bad as Selina Kyle. However, if you ever want to have some fun with your friends, get some booze and watch Halle Berry’s take on Catwoman. It is probably the most inadvertently funny film ever made. Eff The Room! Halle does a whip dance, and her arch-nemesis is a cosmetics mogul with indestructible skin played by Sharon Stone! Anne can’t top that mess!
