Calvin Harris Is Still Talking About Taylor Swift

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Taylor Swift’s latest ex-boyfriend taps on the mic and starts talking about what it was like to date America’s Girlfriend. But until then, we’ll have to settle for hearing about it from the previous title holder. Calvin Harris is on the cover of this month’s issue of British GQ. GQ posted a couple of quotes from Calvin’s interview online, and they clearly know the road to page views isn’t paved with his thoughts on classy aftershave or whatever else they talk about in GQ. It’s all about Taylor. “Of course it is! It always is!” chirped Taylor Swift as she scrolled through her Google alerts this morning.

Calvin specifically talked about their breakup and the drama surrounding the song they co-wrote together, “This Is What You Came For.” According to Calvin, people cared more about the breakup than the relationship. Having people care a lot about what was happening in his personal life was something Calvin wasn’t used to, and that’s what led to his legendary Taylor Twitter dragging. Or as Calvin calls it, when “all hell broke loose.

“It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity. But when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I’m a positive guy.”

Calvin isn’t wiping away any sad tears when he thinks about his relationship with the living candy necklace, but it sounds like he still regrets it all.

“For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards…”

Calvin probably shouldn’t have been so shocked that people cared about their breakup and subsequent drama. After all, he was dating a person who has built a very successful career on the backs of many messy breakups. Or maybe Calvin just thought it would be different with him. Oh Calvin, you sweet naive boy – of course you were going to go down in a giant post-breakup fireball. Someone clearly skipped over section 4 of his relationship contract titled: “The End, or How To Prepare For The Inevitable Life Headache That Comes From Breaking Up With Taylor Swift.

Here’s Calvin at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London last night, and Taylor Swift on a totally “spontaneous” pap walk earlier today.
