Taylor Swift Might Not Escort Tom Hiddleston To The Emmys After All (UPDATE)
Go ahead and forget about the barf bag you were preparing to keep within arm’s reach while watching the Emmy Awards later this month. The Daily Mail says that the red carpet display of real love starring Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston might not actually happen. Hell, their whole relationship might stop happening, because according to sources, Taylor suspects that Perfect Boyfriend Tom might be – GASP – using her for publicity. Someone using Taylor for publicity? How dare they! Exploiting people for publicity is her thing.
Tom was nominated for an Emmy for his performance in The Night Manager and a source tells the Daily Mail that he asked her to go to the ceremony with him, but she’s “uncomfortable” with the idea of them making such a public display when they’ve only been together for barely three months. The source adds that Taylor wants to keep her “private life private“, and that Tom’s invitation to an event as big as the Emmys is kind of making her question his motives.
“Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable. She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons.”
The two have allegedly had relationship problems in the past, but that was due to not seeing each other enough. So help yourselves to a grain of salt on the way out.
The source also says that “Taylor is an independent young woman and doesn’t feel like she needs a boyfriend to make her complete.” Okay, STOP. I don’t know who that source is, but they’re obviously practicing their lying skills to beat an upcoming polygraph test. Taylor Swift is uncomfortable with shoving her relationship in front of the public’s eyes? Taylor Swift doesn’t constantly need a boyfriend? Excuse me?
Either that source is an alien who just landed on earth and put together a profile on Taylor Swift by reading the Taylor-approved comments on her Instagram page, or they’re talking about a different Taylor Swift. If it’s the second one, then I really look forward to seeing the social media meltdown that results from Tom introducing everyone to his date, Tae Lorsweift.
UPDATE: That chance of seeing ToTay at the Emmys has gone from “unlikely” to “definitely probably not.” Both UsWeekly and People are saying that Taylor and Tom are over.
