Pro Tip: Don’t Kick A Producer On Your TV Show Unless You Want To Get Suspended

Criminal Minds is going to go on forever, because the world will always have moms in it, and our moms will always need a show to have on in the background as they spend 45 minutes trying to unwrap a butterscotch candy. My mom is going to get me for that one. She doesn’t watch Criminal Minds! It comes on as the same time as Castle re-runs on TNT, so she watches that while unwrapping a sugar-free butterscotch candy, thankyouverymuch. But that’s besides the point. The point is that new episodes of Criminal Minds will play on TV screens until the end of time and Thomas Gibson, also from Dharma & Greg and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, had a sure thing going until he screwed it up by allegedly kicking a producer. Oh, that ThoMESS Gibson stays messy.

Deadline says that CBS put Thomas on suspension for at least one episode (and maybe two) after a fight with a producer/writer led to him kicking a man like a bratty asshole 4-year-old throwing a tantrum. Deadline is hearing that the dude he kicked is co-executive producer Virgil Williams. Thomas was also supposed to direct an episode of Criminal Minds this season, but him kicking a producer cost him that gig. They’re currently shooting episodes 3 and 4, and this act of fuckery hasn’t stopped production. They just wrote Thomas’ character out and kept on going. Human Resources is currently deciding whether they’re just going to let Thomas’ asshole gene cool as he sits in the corner, or if they’re going to kill his contract and draw a chalk outline around it. Thomas didn’t deny busting out a leg-throwing hissy fit in the statement he gave to Variety:

“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and we always will.”

This isn’t the first time Thomas went crazy on set. Deadline says that years ago, the network sent him to anger management classes for allegedly pushing another producer. The gold seal on the anger management graduate certificate that hangs in Thomas’ trailer is probably sparkling with pride today.

Actors getting their chonies twisted up at work seems to be a thing lately. Speaking of, The Rock would’ve kicked Vin Diesel too, but he probably didn’t want to pay for a rescue team to fish Vin out of the Atlantic Ocean.

And remember the time that Thomas Gibson got catfished by a “fan” and made this hilarious hot tub video for what he thought was a hot piece? This video has nothing to do with this story, but let’s watch it again anyway, because it is the gold standard in secondhand embarrassment.

See, this is a reason for Thomas to stop acting a mess. Because every time he does something dumb and ends up in the news, we all remember this video.
