Selena Gomez Is Striving For Self-Actualization

Selena Gomez kicked off the international leg of her Revival Tour in Indonesia last night on her 24th birthday. Birthdays can hit you hard. This one apparently kicked Selena’s ass because she got teary on stage while introducing her closing song “Kill Em’ With Kindness.” Afterwards, she got social media-teary on Instagram. It was some “I need to do better” rambling. Wow, Project “Taylor Swift Has Been Victimized, You Guys” can stress a gal out.

Twitter has video of Selena getting deep on stage. Instead of tossing her the number to the Samaritans hotline, the crowd cheered. It’s awkward.

“The next song, before I go home, is a song that’s so important to me. Because I get really frustrated. I get stupid sometimes. I say things that I don’t mean, or that come out wrong just because I care so badly. But the thing is, at the end of the day, no war in anger was ever won. I do know that deep down in my heart that I have to believe that we can love each other and always be kind no matter what it takes in us. I believe that we can do that, no matter what.”

Selena exited stage bereft and then posted a message on Instagram about feeling like a fake-ass.

All of this distress is probably due to her Twitter response to Tay Tay’s current tragedy. She trotted out the “there’s more important things to worry about than my bestie being revealed as a lying liar” line. Some Twitter users were quick to inquire as to why she hasn’t supported causes like #BlackLivesMatter then? Witness:

Selena didn’t love this.

And lotsa people didn’t like THAT.

Those Tweets (click that last link) would make ME cry at my concert.

However, maybe she’s got multiple reasons to be upset. If it’s about Bieber, well, here’s a list of songs that you should be covering as dedications to him every night. If this is about those two vs. her, Tay Tay’s PR minions went way overboard with the Instagram copy they wrote for her.
