Not long after former Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the now-former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes earlier this month, people started to filter into two groups. There was the group of women who came forward with their own sexual harassment allegations against ol’ raw hamburger crotch. And there was the group that included current Fox News employees – like Greta Van Susteren and Elisabeth Hasselbeck – who were positively shocked that anyone would ever accuse Roger Ailes of doing such grossness.
Around that time, I couldn’t help but wonder what group Fox News’ Megyn Kelly might join. According to New York magazine, Megyn has a side, and it’s not Team Roger. New York says that two sources, who were briefed on 21st Century Fox’s probe of Roger Ailes (“Huh – usually I’m the one doing the probing” thought Roger), claim that Megyn Kelly has recently told investigators about her experience with him. Not shockingly, she accuses him of sexual harassment.
Megyn alleges that Roger made “unwanted sexual advances” toward her about ten years ago when she first started with Fox News and she was 35 and he was around 66. The sources didn’t get into specifics about if Megyn elaborated further on Roger’s “unwanted sexual advances.”
New York magazine thinks that Megyn’s accusations of sexual harassment against Roger are the most likely reason Rupert Murdoch decided to push Roger’s ass out the exit door today. Megyn is currently in contract negotiations. She’s also apparently the first in line to take over Bill O’Reilly’s throne at Fox News if he retires. She’s also insanely popular and good for ratings, and Rupert doesn’t want to lose her.
Roger Ailes and his lawyer have been working harder than Roger’s boner in a Fox News open casting call to slap back at everyone who has accused him recently, so it’s only a matter of time before he comes for Megyn. Although this won’t exactly be a new thing for Megyn; sources tell New York that Roger’s spokesperson Irena Briganti has been busy crapping on Megyn to the press for not coming out and publicly defending Roger’s honor.
As for Roger’s termination, The Daily Beast says Roger is leaving with more than just his ground trouser round. He’s also getting a $40 million buyout from Fox News.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Megyn Kelly would be the final nail in Roger’s coffin. She’s like a blonde barracuda. And this is such a perfectly ironic way for the chairman of Fox News to go out. You can only get away with being gross for so long, but once your grossness threatens those sweet Fox News ratings, you’re done!
Update from Michael: 21st Century Fox tweeted that giant lump of UGH Roger Ailes is still at work. Apparently, they’re negotiating his exit stage left. Gabriel Sherman of New York magazine claims that the offices of Fox News are filled with Hutt steam, because Roger is mad at Megyn and thinking of firing her while he’s still in charge.
Hearing Ailes is huddled with advisers in "full on crazy mode." He's furious that Megyn Kelly is now being credited with his ouster
