I’m sure you’re absolutely shocked that a situation involving semi-professional disaster Courtney Love has gotten messy. But if you can believe it, she’s not even the messiest part of this story; that honor goes to the one and only Sam Lutfi.
Last week it was reported that Frances Bean was fighting with her soon-to-be ex-husband Isaiah Silva over a guitar that was used by Kurt Cobain during Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance. Isaiah claims the guitar – which is estimated to be worth several million dollars – was a wedding gift from Frances to him. Frances claims she never gave it to him as a gift, and she wants it back. A judge will ultimately decide who gets the guitar, but Courtney Love’s good friend Sam Lutfi is doing everything he can to fix it in Frances’ favor.
Page Six says that Sam’s plan to get the guitar back involves working his “hired goon game” on the mother of Isaiah’s 7-year-old son, Jessica Sullivan. While they were still married, Frances and Isaiah bought Jessica a house in West Hollywood so he could live close to his son. Sources say Sam has “threatened” Jessica with eviction in an attempt to get her to side with Frances during Frances and Isaiah’s divorce proceedings. According to a source, Sam allegedly called up Jessica and told her that Frances would take care of her and her 7-year-old son Arlo “until the day [she] dies” if she agreed to be on Team Frances during the divorce.
If Jessica didn’t cooperate – and here’s where it gets very classic Sam Lutfi – Sam allegedly threatened to have her “put away” and send Arlo to an “orphanage.” He also allegedly called Jessica a “whore” and a “cunt.”
Sam Lutfi isn’t exactly denying his involvement. Page Six says Sam provided them with text messages between Jessica and himself. The texts make Sam calling Jessica a “whore” and “cunt” seem tame. In one text he tells Jessica: “You are done! You sick bitch.” He refers to Jessica as a “white trash con artist” in another. Sam tells Page Six those mean words were simply the result of him losing his temper after Jessica allegedly taunted Frances about Kurt’s suicide.
I know this guitar is worth millions of dollars, but it’s still just a guitar. Not to mention how empty Sam’s threats are. The last time I checked, CPS won’t take your kid away to Miss Hannigan’s because you refuse to return a guitar that used to belong to your estranged wife’s dad. If Sam really wanted to scare them into giving the guitar back, he should have sent Jessica a picture of Courtney Love and a real estate agent looking at the house next door to hers with a note that said “Give back the guitar or Courtney Love will be your new neighbor.”
Speaking of Courtney, here’s the Tony Soprano to Sam’s Paulie Walnuts looking kind of Carly Simon-meets-Cameron Diaz in the face at a premiere last week.
