Jenny Slate And Captain America Are Officially A Thing

In the words of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park, life finds a way. Like tufts of grass between concrete slabs. Or how backwards ass people like the Duggars manage to make it through life. But we’re here to discuss love. Not incesty Duggar stuff, no. Random, head scratching love, but love nonetheless. Jenny Slate and Chris Evans finally stepped out together for a premiere, confirming what we’ve known for months now.

The premiere for The Secret Life of Pets was last night in New York, which Jenny did a voice for, and Chris was there on the green carpet to support her. Chris kept it super low-key the way any Hollywood star does – by wearing a cap and sunglasses that scream “Don’t look at me! I’m definitely not the person I clearly am!” They didn’t do any official red carpet pictures together, but they did stop for this, via E!.

Jenny also confirmed their romance via her mouth on the red carpet during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Jenny says she feels like she “got [her] dream 7th grade boyfriend“, amongst other things. Be warned, if you just can’t with sap and saccharine, watch something else:

Now that I know these two grew up 30 minutes from each other they make a lot more sense. Maybe they’re married and not famous in some Sliding Doors alternate universe? They’re two kids from Boston that made good! I get the feeling Jenny probably sees herself as a nerdy comedy girl, a la Tina Fey, but I’m still not ok with her going all Taylor Swift with that “dream 7th grade boyfriend” shit. Let’s hope that Jenny and Chris don’t go full Taylor Swift, because there’s only so many staged parent meet-and-greets I can stomach.

And here’s more of Jenny at last night’s premiere, along with co-stars Ellie Kemper and Lake Bell:
