Johnny Depp’s Ex-Wife And Vanessa Paradis Have Jumped To His Defense

When we last checked in with Johnny Depp, his lawyer had released a statement regarding Amber Heard‘s allegations about him being a drunk and high abuser. Johnny was in Portugal playing a charity show with his band and going full out damage control by fitting hearing aids on the elderly. Now his family and friends have, of course, come out to defend Johnny and say what a gentle, seen non-wife-beating soul he is.

TMZ posted a letter written by Vanessa Paradis, Johnny’s ex and the mother of his two children, Lily-Rose (17) and John (14). Even though Johnny reportedly dumped Vanessa to get with Amber, she is standing by her ex-man and says the abuse claims are “outrageous” and he never got abusive with her.

Lily-Rose wanted everything to know that her father is as gentle as a newly-hatched butterfly by posting this on her Instagram:

The defense of Johnny doesn’t stop there.

TMZ, also got in touch with Johnny’s first wife, Lori Anne Allison. She and Johnny were married from 1983 to 1985 and she’s saying that she’s Team Johnny because she can’t believe he’d ever lay a finger on his lady, let alone an iPhone to the face. Lori says he never got physical with her nor did he ever even scream. And if you’re thinking to yourself, “What does her ass know? The 80s were a thousand years ago,” Lori says you can scratch that thought because she claims the two still talk. Lori says she spoke to Johnny as early as last week when she called to offer her condolences on the passing of his mother. Sounds like the people closest to him all have a similar experience and view of him.

TMZ also has a video of Mickey Rourke defending Johnny. Mickey, in his finest drag king wig and ensemble, looks pretty surprised when the paps tell him about the allegations but goes on to say that he’s always found Johnny to be a “low-key gentleman”. Which makes me think of Johnny holding doors for Mickey and throwing a scarf over a puddle for him. Is that why he has all the scarves? Because he’s a gentleman and needs them in case a lady has to cross a puddle? Have I solved the mystery?

Star of Wimbledon (It’s a good movie, ok?!) Paul Bettany, got on Twitter to throw in his two cents as well.

Comments and replies got heated, mostly along the lines of people asking why he’s trying to defend an alleged woman beater so Paul put up a reply:

No word yet from Wino Forever, Kate Moss or Johnny’s work husband Tim Burton. But I want to know what Boo and Pistol have to say, because they were there the entire time. The court needs to get Cesar Milan to dog whisper statements out of them.
