Famous-ish People Might Be Getting Paid To Talk About Gwen And Blake’s Relationship

Because there are no shortage of celebrities who get an attention boner from a good old fashioned publicity stunt, there are people who are suspicious of just how true and real Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s love is. Dlisted, for example. Hell, I’m pretty sure that if Ted Casablanca was still around, there’d be no end to the stories about “Harajuku Mom” and “The Y’all-y Jean Giant.

Well, real or fake (or a marketable combination of the two), The Cut has a theory about why Gwen and Blake’s relationship is getting so much attention in the first place, and it has to do with paying barely-famous people to talk about them.

The Cut noticed that on Sunday, The Bachelor contestant Becca Tilley and The Hills’ Stephanie Pratt both Instragrammed almost the same picture of Gwen and Blake from a week-old iHeart Radio performance with equally eye roll-worthy captions.

Okay, so they’re both “obsessed” with Gwen and Blake and both direct their several-thousand followers to the same Honda Stage link. I’m only a part-time conspiracy theorist, but I think this is evidence of either of the following:

A) Since Becca and Stephanie have probably faked things for reality TV, they appreciate the possibly staged love between Gwen and Blake.

B) They’re cashing checks from iHeart Radio and Honda.

Option A is very very likely. However, if I know anything about a check being a check, Option B is probably the more likely reason. I suppose we’ll only know for sure if one of them pulls a Scott Disick and accidentally pastes the words “At 2pm please write #RelationshipGoals” on a picture of Gwen and Blake wearing iHeart Radio t-shirts while driving a Honda Civic.
