The Messy Story About Wendell Pierce Going Crazy On A Bernie Sanders Supporter Just Got Messier
Yesterday, we learned that yet another lit match had been thrown on the already out-of-control tire fire that is the election when Michael linked to a story about Wendell Pierce (aka Bunk from The Wire) getting arrested for allegedly whooping on a Bernie Sanders supporter. Well, we know more details, and if you can believe it, the situation is about six times weirder than reading the words “Bunk from The Wire getting arrested for allegedly whooping on a Bernie Sanders supporter.”
Originally, the story that went around was that at 3:30am on Saturday, Wendell Pierce – aka Michael from Waiting to Exhale for those who didn’t watch The Wire – was arrested for battery at a hotel in Atlanta, GA after getting into it with a woman named Maggie Elena Baca. Wendell, who is Team Hillary, allegedly grabbed Maggie’s hair and smacked her head after their conversation about politics got too intense. TMZ got their hands on a police report, and according to Wendell’s side of the story, things turned violent after Maggie and her boyfriend tried to drag him and his girlfriend into their hotel room. Wendell claims they stayed outside the room and ran away after they were almost pulled inside.
Maggie, however, remembers it much differently. According to the police report, Wendell Pierce stuck his hand in the door and tried to get into their hotel room. They also claim that he grabbed Maggie’s hoodie so hard he ripped it off her. An eyewitness has concurred with Maggie’s side of things. The witness, who was staying in the same hotel room as Maggie tells The Daily Beast that they saw Wendell try to get into the hotel room. They claim they were woken up around 3:30 to the sound of Maggie and her boyfriend yelling and barricading the door in an attempt to prevent Wendell from getting into their room. They also claim that Wendell’s girlfriend was repeatedly yelling “stop it“, to which Wendell allegedly replied that he was being pulled in. The witness wants to remain anonymous and probably for fear of finding an angry McNulty with a thirst for vengeance.
According to the witness, this dramatic Hillary vs. Bernie situation ended when Maggie’s boyfriend threatened to get a knife, which caused Wendell to back away from the door.
Yesterday, Wendell released a statement on Twitter about all of this, the gist of which is that only Judy can judge him.
I regret that what started as a civil political discussion escalated to the level that it did. (1/3)

I really hope my brain remembers the phrase “what has been reported thus far differs in important respects from what actually occurred.” Because I would love to pull that out and sound smart the next time I call some lying-ass bitch a liar.
All jokes aside, this fight was started over people arguing about Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. I would expect this shit between a Hillary supporter and a Trump supporter, or a Bernie supporter and a Trump supporter, or a pile of clothes that sort of looks like a person and a Trump supporter. What I’m trying to say is, if anyone is going to be arrested for fighting over a presidential candidate, it should be whoever is arguing with a Trump supporter. “Please officer, lock me up. Anything so that I don’t have to spend another second listening to Trump’s genius plan to save the country with a wall.”
