Scarlett Johansson Doesn’t Feel Right Complaining About The Gender Wage Gap Problem
There are a few ways Hollywood people have been talking about the gender wage gap problem. Some people, like Jennifer Lawrence, choose to talk about it by writing an essay slapping at the powers that be for writing fewer zeros on her paycheck than on those of the male actors in American Hustle. Others, like Kate Winslet, choose to talk about it by refusing to talk about it, because that would be tacky, darling. We finally have Scarlett Johansson’s thoughts on the gender wage gap problem, and they are…that she doesn’t feel right talking about it, since it’s not exactly a problem for her.
ScarJo got into during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan. ScarJo is a successful, rich actress whose last superhero club movie made over a billion dollars, so complaining about how much money is missing from her bank account gives her the same feeling she gets when she hears someone utter the word “ScarJo.”
“There’s something icky about me having that conversation unless it applies to a greater whole…I am very fortunate, I make a really good living, and I’m proud to be an actress who’s making as much as many of my male peers at this stage…I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I’m addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious. It’s part of a larger conversation about feminism in general.”
I don’t know if that’s mean to be shade on JLaw or what. Yes, ScarJo and JLaw are both franchise millionaires, and yes, she used the word “obnoxious“, which is one of JLaw’s factory settings. But I don’t think ScarJo would be so unspecific. I mean, she named her daughter Rose Dorothy. Anyone who loves Golden Girls that much clearly knows you don’t beat around the bush when it comes to calling someone out.
Although I have a feeling ScarJo might feel even ickier if she were to accidentally glance at just how many more dollars were being dumped into the bank account belonging to her Avengers co-star, Robert Downey Jr. “The Hell??? I’m the one wearing 10lbs of red polyester hair and sweating my crotch off in a leather catsuit. Fuck this, I’m calling my agent.”
Here’s a few more pics of Scarlett in Cosmo, including one of her wearing 2016’s unofficial famous lady uniform, the formal diaper.
