Katherine Heigl Is Doing Kitty Litter Commercials Now, But It’s For Charity, Okay?!

After the crusted-over phlegm ball stuck in Hollywood’s throat named Katherine Heigl left Grey’s Anatomy and was labeled an unhealable anus fissure by the ruler of primetime television Shonda Rhimes, she acted in a few bombs, redefined the meaning of “perfect” when she did a ZzzQuil commercial and starred in what was supposed to be her big comeback show. It never saw the light of a second season. Heigl also found time to sue Duane Reade for using her picture in a tweet and she made a movie using Indiego donations (some of which she put in her own pocket). Heigl has followed all of that up by starring in an ad campaign for kitty litter, which makes sense since her career has ended up in the shit box. But supposedly, Heigl isn’t only doing it, because a check is a check, she’s also doing it for the down-and-out animals of the world.

Heigl’s commercials for Cat’s Pride kitty litter are currently on TV and if you’ve seen them, you may have said to the screen, “Bitch, you can’t even get Fresh Step?!” In the commercials, Katherine Heigl plays a pussy psychiatrist who tells a human patient to switch to Cat’s Pride as a cat thinks to herself that she needs to fire her agent, because now Shonda Rhimes is never going to cast her as “snobby cat #1” in an episode of Scandal.

The commercial doesn’t say anything about a piece of the profits going to the charity that Katherine Heigl started with her alleged monster of a mother and named after her late brother. But a rep for Cat’s Pride said in a statement that some of the money made from the sales of the company’s Fresh & Light Ultimate Care litter is going to her charity. via Pet Product News

As part of the launch, Cat’s Pride is partnering with award-winning actress Katherine Heigl, best known for her roles in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “27 Dresses” and “Knocked Up,” as the face and voice of the integrated marketing campaign. The campaign includes TV, print, digital and radio advertising. In addition, Cat’s Pride is proud to support The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation by donating a portion of every Fresh & Light Ultimate Care purchase to support the foundation’s animal advocacy work.

You know, as a fellow lover of both animal friends and the motto “a check is a check,” I won’t totally hate on this. I’ll save all my hate for when Katherine Heigl tells the paparazzi that she doesn’t totally love the commercials because the writing wasn’t that great. And here’s some pictures from last month of Katherine Heigl signing autographs for fans who probably thought she was a blond Ashley Judd.
