Beyonce Is Too Expensive For Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” Remake

Even though another remake of A Star Is Born directed by Bradley Cooper sounds like Aloha-levels of bad, it’s still going to happen. The last time we checked, Bradley really wanted aspiring Oscar-winner Beyonce to bring her expert line-reading skills to the lead role. Unfortunately, it sounds like A Star Is BEYONCE! isn’t going to happen, because she’s too expensive.

Shortly after word got out that Beyonce was in talks for the lead, B.Coop said that everyone should return all of the boxes of Wake Ups! they bought to help them get through her performance because it was just a rumor. Well, there may have been an important reason for why he was keeping things on the down-low. He may have been trying to see if he could save enough pennies to be able to afford her. A source tells Page Six that Warner Bros. pulled a “Weave, please” when they saw how much Beyonce was asking for. The source doesn’t say how much Beyonce wanted. But since it’s Razzie-nominated actress Beyonce we’re talking about, I’m going to assume it was somewhere in the neighborhood of “too damn much.

The source says that Warner Bros. also side-eyed the numbers of the production budget. The project has since fallen apart, but it’s not totally dead. Another source says that A Star Is Born is still in development and that Bradley is still working on it, but it’s not his top priority right now.

This whole A Star Is Born salary situation must have been a really difficult decision for Beyonce. On one hand, she really, really wants an Oscar. But she also really, really wants that money. Honestly, if Beyonce really wants an Oscar so bad, why doesn’t she just have Jay-Z commission Cartier to make her a solid-gold one and get Blue Ivy Carter to present it to her at a pretend Academy Awards ceremony inside their house? Because no trophy is worth being told “I’m sorry, Beyonce, but we don’t have enough money in the budget for daily frame-by-frame digital thigh gap retouching.

Now that Beyonce is probably out, Bradley Cooper could always think about replacing her with his current girlfriend Irina Shayk. After all, who knows the struggle of climbing to the top better than a professional famous person’s girlfriend? Here they are leaving a fancy L’Oreal party in Paris last night.
