Bill Cosby Could Be Hit With Assault Charges In L.A.

I know. I need to be straight-up hit in the face for assaulting your eyes with that nasty picture.

Several more Bill Cosby accusers came forward this week, bringing the grand total to over 50. Even though nearly everyone on this planet has accused Bill Cosby of drugging and/or sexually assaulting them, he’s never been charged with assault, because of a thing called “statute of limitations.” That may change soon. The Los Angeles Times says that prosecutors in L.A. are looking over allegations made in 2008 against Bill Cosby. The LAPD already investigated it and turned over their findings to the D.A. who will decide whether or not to throw charges at him.

Chloe Goins claims that she met the geriatric slug at a party at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 when she was 18. She says that after she took a sip of a drink Cosby gave her, she blacked out and woke up later to find his nasty ass biting on her toes, and she was also half-naked. Chloe told her story in December 2014 and she reportedly spoke to the police in January 2015.  Cosby’s lawyers deny Chloe’s allegations and they claim he wasn’t even at that party.

The L.A. Times also adds that in some sexual assault cases, the statute of limitations is 10 years. But in most cases, including Chloe Goins’ case, the statute of limitations is 6 years, so prosecutors may not be able to charge Cosby at all. Experts say that even if he’s not slapped with charges, Chloe Goins may get a chance to testify which is important for future civil cases. WARNING: Simple legal talk ahead so now is the time to dig into your brain and pull out all the legal stuff you learned while watching Ally McBeal:

But legal experts said there were other reasons for the LAPD to investigate, especially if Cosby is eventually charged with a crime. California law allows alleged victims to testify as witnesses even if their own cases never resulted in charges.

The evidence is admissible due to a change in California evidence law in 1996 that allows witnesses to demonstrate a pattern of behavior or propensity to commit a crime, said Dmitry Gorin, a former L.A. sex crimes prosecutor.

Cosby still faces a few civil lawsuits and next week, he’ll be deposed by THEE Gloria Allred who is representing Judy Huth. Judy Huth claims Cosby molested her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 15. Cosby’s lawyers are trying to keep that deposition from being made public, because well, they know the kind of heave-inducing shit that comes out of his mouth hole in depositions. Screw keeping that shit private. That deposition needs to go down in the middle of a boxing ring and they should air it live on HBO. That would bring on the country’s biggest popcorn shortage in history.
