Well, I guess this weekend’s HSOTD theme is Hot Sluts with stage names of dreams. Yesterday was Ida B. ChoAzz, the badass superhero roller derby queen of Spokane and today is SoFonda Cox, a reigning ruler of the Toronto drag scene whose one-woman Destiny’s Child is everything and more.
NewNowNext says that at Woody’s in Toronto last Sunday night, SoFonda Cox took everyone up, up and away when she took the stage as a one-woman Destiny’s Child. SoFonda Cox’s performance was captured on cell phone video (as EVERYTHING is nowadays) and uploaded to Facebook where it’s been watched hundreds of thousands of times. Matthew Knowles probably watched SoFonda’s performance and slapped himself like crazy, because why didn’t he think of that back in the day? Matthew Knowles’ cut would’ve been even bigger if he didn’t have to pay Kelly Rowland and those other ones.
SoFonda’s Beyonce is also extremely gracious, because she gave her Michelle and Kelly more time in the spotlight than the actual Beyonce gave the actual Michelle and Kelly. Throw all the dollar bills at your screen, because this is entertainment:
SoFonda’s Destiny Child’s tribute would’ve been even more perfect if during the performance, she and the “Kelly” gave a quick unconcerned look and kept on going after the “Michelle” fell.
