Ida B. ChoAzz, the roller derby queen of Spokane, Washington who single-handedly got a stolen purse back.

Every purse snatcher in Spokane now knows that if you see Ida B. ChoAzz while in the middle of a bag-napping, drop that shit and run while you still can, because she will come for you. KXLY-4 reports that on Wednesday, a dude grabbed a lady’s purse in a grocery store and while running out, Ida B. ChoAzz knew that something illegal was up and decided she needed to handle a trick. 42-year-old Ida said that she saw the dude running out with a bag in his hands and knew she needed to take his ass down:

“I had no idea what was going on but I thought, ‘He needs to be chased because that doesn’t look like his purse.’ I just flung my sun glasses and everything and started running after him.”

When the purse snatcher ran to the freeway, Ida, who’s on the Spokannibals Roller Derby team, didn’t slow down and was ready to go. They both weaved through four lanes of traffic on the goddamn freeway and when the thief realized that Ida B. ChoAzz wasn’t going to stop until she opened a can of her name on him, he gave up.

“He looked and saw he had nowhere to go other than running, and I said, ‘I can outrun you. Give it up.’ And he just looked at me and tossed the purse.”

Ida told a police friend about what happened and less than 24 hours later, Ronald Warner was busted and charged with with three counts of possession of stolen property. Ronald also had a warrant out for his arrest for child abuse in Missouri. The purse snatching was caught on surveillance camera, so police know it’s Ronald Warner.

The woman whose purse got stolen called Ida B. ChoAzz a true hero.
