Hot Slut Of The Day!

The Vuarnet t-shirt from the… wait for it…. wait for it…. 80s!

Vuarnet (pronounced: something French) is a brand from France that is mainly known for making sunglasses since the early 1960s. In 1984, they were the official sponsor of the Olympics in L.A. (to this day, my mom STILL bitches about the traffic at that time) and after that, they got very popular in the US. I don’t think anyone I knew owned a pair of Vuarnet sunglasses, but I remember a whole lot of people wearing the t-shirt like it was attached to their skin. If the mid-80s scooted across a t-shirt, its skid mark would probably look like a cross between the Camp Beverly Hills logo and the Vuarnet logo.

Because people lost a sense of classic taste, Vuarnet faded away. They eventually de-80s’d their logo and changed it, but you can still buy an old one on eBay. I got one as a birthday present when I was a kid and I have no idea what happened to it, but I’m sure that one day I will waltz into a Goodwill, see it and Skid Row’s “I Remember You will play as we run toward each other. We’ll be reunited and after I pair it with some pegged acid wash jeans and L.A. Gear high-tops, we’ll never leave eachother.
