Seen above looking like an apathetic greasy teenage elf raver runaway, Kristen Stewart recently gave an interview to Patti Smith for Interview, and she admitted something I never thought I’d hear anyone associated with the Twilight franchise would ever admit, let alone Kristen Stewart: that she’s not just proud of the Twilight movies, but that she’s “fucking proud”. Literally every neurologist across the country just told their assistants to clear their schedules because “the mopey girl from Twilight clearly needs a brain scan.”
In response to Patti uttering the words “I loved your work in those films” (cut to those same neurologists keeping an appointment open for Patti as well), KStew replied:
“Anybody who wants to talk shit about Twilight, I completely get it, but there’s something there that I’m endlessly, and to this day, fucking proud of. My memory of it felt—still feels—really good.”
She also wants you to know that all the line-reading she did in Twilight was KStew’s version of serious ACTING:
“Say I do a big franchise movie about a vampire that falls in love with a normal girl. It’s like, ‘Now do you want to show them that you can be a real, serious actor?’ It’s like, ‘Was I not being a real, serious actor?'”
KStew would also like you to know that KStew will always be Bella from Twilight, because that shit imprinted on her career like a werewolf:
“People are always comparing shit. Like, comparing Twilight to things and trying to figure out why I’ve made certain decisions that I’ve made, and I always say every single moment that has led me to this moment has made me who I am. Every movie that I’ve done, they don’t stand independently from one another because a little bit of me is in every single one of those, and it’s part of my own personal growth. I don’t think that there’s much hiding that actors can do. If you’re doing good work, you’re showing a part of yourself to someone, so I can’t say that Twilight doesn’t have anything to do with Still Alice and Sils Maria. They have everything to do with each other. They are who I am.”
Damn, KStew loves talking about Twilight almost as much as the Robsten fangirls love talking about that homewrecking whore FKA twigs on Twitter. Or maybe she’s just excited that the curse has finally been lifted and she’s no longer America’s horny middle-aged mom’s vacant-eyed brown-haired sweetheart.
