Hot Slut Of The Day!

Michel’Le, the late 80s R&B chanteuse with the “Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes on helium” voice.

You know you were around in 1989 when “No More Lies” comes up on iTunes Radio and you sing along to the “squeem foya bodee doo doo” part. Michel’Le was the Beyonce of the late 80s (or is Beyonce the Michel’Le of the 2000s?), because she’s a Creole Queen and was one-half of a power couple with Dr. Dre. Michel’Le (Side Note: I am highly considering changing my legal name to Michel’Le) put out her first Dr.Dre-produced album on Eazy-E’s record label in 1989 and delivered hits like “No More Lies” and “Nicety.” Michel’Le’s first album was a hit, but she waited almost a whole damn decade to put out her second one, because she was busy raising the kid (aka the Blue Ivy of the 90s) she made with Dr. Dre. Her second album really didn’t go anywhere. Michel’Le still makes music today and she’s also on the TV One reality show R&B Divas Live. Michel’Le married Suge Knight in 1999 (they made a baby together in 2002) and last year she told Wendy Williams that they’re not really married, because she got married over a prison phone. Yes, I love Michel’Le for “No More Lies,” but I also love her for this quote:

“A fake marriage is when you don’t go in front of no priest or no whoever…the man with the black robe. I didn’t know that when you’re in prison, you can’t get married over the phone. Guess who told me the truth? The Judge, the IRS and the FBI.”

I highly judge Michel’Le for procreating with Suge Knight, but those judgements go away when I listen to her sing out a “do-do-do-do-do-ooh-ooh.”

And what I miss most about the late 80s and early 90s is the “chat line commercial lighting” that every single music video seemed to have. Do-do-do-do-ooooh.
