The blue aliens from Eiffel 65’s video for Blue (Da Ba Dee)!

10 years before James Cameron’s Avatar came out and became the #1 worldwide grossing movie of all time, it’s OBVIOUS inspiration, the video for Eiffel 65’s Blue (Da Ba Dee) was released. Eiffel 65 is a Eurodance trio from Italy and in 1999 they had a dance hit with the musical ear worm that is Blue (aka that Yabba dabba dee-a dabba) song. Blue was a lyrical masterpiece and not many people know this, but Beyonce and Jay-Z named their chosen one after this song. Most nights, Tobias Fünke wakes up in the middle of the night and punches the skull that covers his brain, because he still hates himself for not writing this song. It perfectly captures all the emotions he feels on an hourly basis.

In the technologically advanced video for Blue, little blue aliens who have blue dicks for noses battle against Eiffel 65, dance in a rave, battle against Eiffel 65 some more and dance in a rave some more. Who ever came up with the plot for this video better be getting monthly royalty checks from James Cameron, because this is pretty much the plot for Avatar.

I know, the special effects were centuries before their time.

And to this day, I refuse to believe that they’re not singing, “I’m blue if I was green I would die if I was green I would die.
