Merritt Wever of Nurse Jackie who won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy at the Emmys last night and gave the kind of speech that everybody should give when they win something.

Merritt Wever, who plays the awkward 14-year-old girl trapped in the body of a nurse in Nurse Jackie, deserved the Emmy last night and she REALLY deserved it, because she gave the greatest speech ever. I think she performed that speech in character. Merritt said backstage that she was kind of stunned and she should’ve thanked Edie Falco, but she really didn’t know what to do.

“It’s hard to do those. I don’t know how to feel yet. …. I have therapy next week.”

Everybody should give a speech like Merritt’s, because if they did, all award shows would be 30 minutes long. Take note, future award winners. This is how it’s done.
