Ian Somerhalder And Grumpy Cat: Together At Last

I'll see your Tom Hardy with a pit bull puppy pics and raise you a pic of an Ian Somerhalder with Grumpy Cat. (I know, nothing beats Tom Hardy with a pit bull puppy, but I tried it.)

Grumpy Cat (born name: Tardar Sauce) wouldn't be Grumpy Cat if she wasn't grumpy even when meeting a pretty-faced vampire with permanent "O RLY?" brows. Ian Somerhalder met Grumpy Cat at SXSW in Austin and he Instagrammed (via People) this memento from their first meeting. I'm just going to assume that Ian and Tardar Sauce's meeting involved discussing the possibility of starring in a reboot of Turner & Hooch. (Ian will play a cheery detective and Grumpy Cat will play a grumpy cat who becomes his partner after witnessing a murder. Craig T. Nelson can recreate his role.)

Apparently, Grumpy Cat was the breakout star of SXSW and dozens of people lined up to meet her. Everybody wanted to meet the current reigning pussy queen of the Internet (never 4get Spaghetti Cat). So I'm guessing that next year, they're going to change the name of SXSW to The Second Annual Grumpy Cat Meet And Greet.

And here's more of Grumpy Cat looking like me when I went to Trader Joe's this past weekend and found that they were all out of my favorite cheese crackers. I was confused, scared, pissed off and a little gassy.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice and encouragement. I ended up not taking my grump cat to the vet. She was too upset. She doesn't have a major health prob. We will work this out.

I was wondering about if they had a cat-show style "quiet place" cage for Tard at SXSW with food dishes, a comfy nap-space and a litter box. I was kind of upset when I heard there was a line of 600 people there to see G.C., and that people would be allowed to handle her all day long.

I have ethical questions about Tard's owners' judgement in allowing their cat to be handled all day by strangers. I really don't think the animal's best interest was at heart, and that makes me sad.

I'm with those of you who say Grumpy Cat may be just fine. Cats vary in personality and temperament so much. Some of them are Garbo-esque and hide out, and some have never met a person they didn't want to rub their fur all over. He could also be on kitty-Xanax, lol.

Personally, I prefer this pic to the one of Hardy yesterday. I've never been a dog person, and I love pretty (not rugged) men. Hmm, correlation?

The Current Persian would definitely be in harm's way with that kind of circus going about around him. He's a quiet, shy guy that just wants to be home with his Mom. Deb -- my late kitty did NOT like the carrier. She was tiny so I was able to stuff her in quickly, but the sounds she would make while in the carrier were horrible, OMG! I would be in tears because she sounded so sad, it was awful to listen to, the moaning & shrieking. But on our way home she'd calm down. My late basset hound was the same way, though I didn't have to use a carrier (bassets are way too big). She'd moan & cry all the way to the vet or groomer, but on the way back she was totally chill. I miss my babies, but those furry little fuckers would totally stress me out on the way to the vets or groomers.

Hey Deb. Sorry to hear you're having difficulties getting your kitteh back to the vet. I think your strategy of closing doors is a good one. If you catch her, carry her to the carrier if you can, then put her into the carrier backwards, so she doesn't see what she's being put into. I have to do that with all of mine, otherwise I'd never get any of them into a carrier. Good luck.

What's more sad than the fact that 10,000 animals got euthanized today? The fact that because of the ignorance of humans, it will happen again tomorrow. End the cycle. Spay and neuter your pets & please adopt your next pet from a shelter.

None of my 5 cats would tolerate this BS and it would be incredibly stressful for them if I forced them to travel all over the country, make appearances and have their picture taken with dozens of people. I don't care how much money someone paid me, I would not do this to any of my cats. My fear is the same thing will happen to this cat as did the obese cat that the effin animal shelter took on a country-wide tour and it died a short time after making multiple appearances, most likely from the stress of it all. Cats are not dogs. What this cat's owners are doing just p*sses me off. *Rant over*

I'm torn about her fame. On the one hand, I doubt she's being handled badly since I understand she was a rescue, and they seemed to love her already. She seems like a social relaxed kitty from what I've seen, while my cats ran and hide at the sound of a door knock.

On the other hand, she's still a kitty and probably wants her sleepy time alone. Her dwarfism would be concerning, so I hope they have a good vet. I also don't like her humans allowing Friskies to be her sponsor for her event. Friskies is awful for kittens.

I love this cat, and her memes make me laugh. Oddly enough, from what I've been reading she's touched lots of lives in a good way by making people laugh. How many kitties can say that, besides Paris Hilton's pussy? And I'm guessing they don't laugh...
