Who Wore It Better?
I declared to myself that Julianne Moore could do no wrong when I watched her tearfully cry out, "I sucked other men's cocks," in Magnolia, but she has done wrong for the first time in the history of forever.
At the Bvlgari Celebration of Elizabeth Taylor's Jewelry Collection in Beverly Hills last night, the ginger goddess wore a $6 million diamond and emerald necklace that Richard Burton gave to La Liz during the shooting of Cleopatra in Rome. Some source tells People that when Julianne walked into the room, everybody including Drew Barrymore, Kiki Dunst, Naomi Watts and Marisa Tomei stopped to stare at the necklace. Yeah, the entire room pressed pause, because they couldn't believe that Julianne wore that necklace with daytime hair, a red dress and beige heels. Who wears that necklace with beige heels?!
Who ever styled Julianne did her ass wrong in the worst way possible. The only way to wear that necklace is to wear it with a headdress made of hypodermic needles, e-cigarettes and an FTD bouquet.
That necklace just doesn't shine on Julianne Moore the same way it shined on Elizabeth Taylor. But maybe that's because Lindsay Lohan snatched the real one and replaced it with a replica made of beer bottle glass and Barbie earrings. That's probably the real case.

When it comes to jewelry, less really is Moore. I know Liz was Hollywood royalty, but good taste was not her strong suit. As for Drew, I love her for being an original. Watts looks good, but different somehow.

Kiki has very pretty eyes, Niomi looks quite nice as does Julianne. I do like Marisa and Drew but both are starting to hit the wall and I think Drew might have actually scraped the wall but managed to bounce off and veer back onto the road. She looks like shit with red lipstick

That pantsuit is doing no favors for Marisa Tomei. She looked so cute and lively in that picture with her boyfriend a few weeks ago. This makes her look dowdy and matronly.

I think JM wore it beautifully. She didn't try to compete with the necklace -- Liz Taylor could. I mean, look at that photo with the hat and she pulled it off!
If JM had tried to get glitzy, everyone would have ragged on her saying she was trying to be like Liz. This way, she showed respect to the necklace and Liz Taylor.
I'm probably in the minority but I'm not a fan of big jewelry like that, I think most people can't pull it off without it looking gaudy.
Wow. I didn't realize how old Julianne's neck & decolletage look! I agree that the color combo is too Christmas-y. Don't care for the nude heels on her, either.

Naomi Watts is wearing too much black. She looks overwhelmed.
Drew Barrymore is always a bohemian/hippie mess so I don't expect much from her.
Emeralds look so pretty on the ginges. Doesn't help that she is really pretty.

Drew's necklace is gorgeous. I love all the colors. I think that Julianne could have carried this off if she wore a black ot white gown, better shoes, and an updo. ITA with MK, one does NOT wear nude pumps with a necklace that bold and exquisite.

I'll be stoned for this, but I like it better on Julianne. Not only is it gorgeous with her beautiful coloring, but the lack of a dandelion hat means the attention isn't drawn away from the necklace.

You would think for an event anything Liz Taylor, these women would look a bit festive & fun....they look so blah. I bet the non stars (the Memaws of Bev. Hills) at the event looked more fabulous.
I saw that little evening wear accessory and want to know what happened to the earrings that go with it. I wonder if she is the owner or if it's on rental. The emeralds are amazing: big old paperwieghts perfectly matched in color and cut to perfection. I wanted the set but had to settle for underwear instead.
It's okay and matches her colours, but that center part and straightened hair is RUINING that look. Larger hair with small waves would have done it better. Also, dress could be a little shorter.
Did Julianne go get one of those mid face lifts recently? I didn't think she was that old. Never ages, this one.
