Oscar Pistorius Will Be Charged With Premeditated Murder
Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee sprinter who became the sweetheart of the Olympics this past summer, cried tears into his hands in a court room in South Africa this morning when the prosecutors announced that they will throw a premeditated murder charge at his ass, because they believe he meant to shoot his 30-year-old girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Oscar's agent told reporters that he didn't mean to shoot his girlfriend dead and he will fight the charges.
According to the literary journal where I get all my very important news, The Daily Mail, the police were called to Oscar's house in Pretoria after neighbors heard some noises. Apparently, the neighbors called before the shooting. Neighbors also said they heard screaming and shouting before the shooting. After the shooting, the security guards from Oscar's gated community found him kneeling next to Reeva's body in the downstairs bathroom. She was shot four times through a closed bathroom door. The police didn't buy Oscar's whole "I thought she was a robba!" story and immediately arrested him. A rep for the police department said yesterday that they've been called out to Oscar's house before to deal with situations of a "domestic nature." Oscar was also arrested in 2009 for allegedly assaulting a female friend. The friend eventually dropped the charges.
Pretoria has one of the highest rates of home robbery in South Africa and Oscar said in an interview once that he was paranoid about people breaking into his house. Last November, he tweeted: "Nothing like getting home to hear the washing machine on and thinking its an intruder to go into full combat recon mode into the pantry! waa."
I don't really get that washing machine tweet either. If a thief breaks into your house and starts doing laundry, they're either the nicest burglar ever or they have a serious case of OCD.
I don't even know what to make of this and I'm going to need South Africa to fly Detective La Toya Jackson in so she can get to the bottom of this and EVERYTHING else. I mean, shooting through the bathroom door makes me think that he really thought she was a burglar and just went crazy like Rose McGowan with her leg gun. But the neighbors heard shouting noises hours before the shooting and that makes it seem like a domestic situation.
I don't know, but I do know that these pictures from the court room look like they were taken with a View-Master from the inside of a closet.

Too much evidence mounting, he doesn't have a leg to stand on. He may try to lean heavily on his attorney but eventually, the star witness will cut his feet out from under him, and he will be hopping mad when he gets the death penalty.
Either way, he will not walk on these charges.

The inmates are not segregated and in 2010, during the World Cup, I read about a poor guy locked up over the weekend for driving without a license who came out infected with HIV after being raped throughout the weekend. This, before any sort of conviction.

That incident in 2009 when he assaulted a woman was when he slammed a door on a 19 year old girl he asked to leave his house during a party. Some reports say he caught her leg in the door and others that a piece of the door broke off and hit her. Either way it was him being careless, not beating a trick up.
I still haven't decided either way if he did it or not, but I wouldn't use that incident as evidence that he has a history of violence against women.
I usually reserve definitive comment until more facts come out, but there's a whole lot of 'idiot' rolling around in my brain right now. What a waste. RIP to the victim.
The SA media is reporting that neighbors called the police 2 hours before the shooting due to fighting that they heard.
Also, if he was in the bathroom, why did he have to shoot unless the "intruder" entered? He was in a secure place.
Likewise, if she was in the bathroom, he had the upper-hand. He could have barricaded it or told her he had a gun and then called the police and/or 24 hour security his housing development offers. Surely in either case, she could have identified who she was before he fired shots!
In the picture of him with his head in his hands, he's shedding hot tears for the 2 lives that just went down the drain due to his actions, Reeva's forever, and his, in prison — for a long long time if there's any justice.
I'm convinced that certain forms of masculinity are toxic, and testosterone is the slow poison. Ugh, this whole thing is just tragic.
I don't remember why I have this impression, maybe watching an interview with him during the Olympics or something, but I remember thinking that he was a complete arrogant douche. Not that that means anything on its own, but if she did the slightest thing to piss him off maybe he would be less able than the average bear to control his temper.

even when they're in handcuffs, the focus is on the individual and the family, not the employer(s). for example, you think any of Cracken's probation officers ever interviewed a single other studio kid who was "raised" with her, or researched whether any of the studio tutors or whatever staff responsible for her ever caught any criminal charges related to violence or abuse? nope, they just talk to her, her parents and maybe a few people currently around her, and rely on what they are told. in other words, the investigation process is incomplete, plus they only people in the deepest denial about what really happened. /last sympathetic thing i'll ever say about Cracken. i know she's the girl we love to hate but i really do think she was abused, and i don't think it was Michael...

This child abuse case is in my town and it had me in tears last night. Poor kid escaped and a neighbour found him and said he looked like a little old man. He was looking for a drink of water.
