Sandy From Melrose Place Gets Only 3 Years In Prison
Today in Somerville, NJ, Amy Locane-Bovenizer, who was Sandy in the first season of Melrose Place and Allison in Cry-Baby, was sentenced to 3 years in the clink after she was convicted in November of vehicular manslaughter.
Amy's booze alcohol level was three times over the legal limit when she crashed her Chevy Tahoe into a car, killing the passenger, 60-year-old Helene Seeman. Amy could've gotten up to 10 years, but the judge reduced her sentence all the way down, because she has a 4-year-old daughter who suffers from Crohn's disease and he felt sorry for her (cut to Lindsay Lohan trolling a children's hospital to look for a girl with Crohn's disease to kidnap). When the judge gently slapped Amy down with only a 3 year sentence, the victim's family cried over the injustice and left the court room.
HuffPo says that Amy has already served 81 days in the clink, so she'll be eligible for parole in 2 1/2 years. Once she gets out of prison, her drivers license will be suspended for 5 years, she'll be on probation for 3 years and she'll have to pay thousands of dollars in fines. Before Amy's sentencing, her lawyer told the judge that her two young daughters were in a bad way while she was in prison and her 4-year-old's health was getting worse. After sentencing, Amy's mother said that she was happy that her granddaughters will have their mom back soon.
Amy apologized to Helene Seeman's family, but they didn't give three shits about what she had to say. Helen's 26-year-old son Ford told reporters that Amy's soft sentence made their suffering worse.
I was going to say that if Amy wasn't a celebrity the judge would've sentenced her to 20 years in prison and also sentenced her mom to 20 years in prison for giving birth to her, but then I remembered that the homeless lady who chases dogs in the park across the street from my apartment building probably has more fans than this bitch does. Amy's last major acting job was playing Maggie Gyllenhaal's sister in Secretary and that was over 10 years ago. I guess we know that judge's favorite Melrose Place character was fucking Sandy.

My ex-roommate has Crohn's. I just saw him last week with a catheter looking thing attached to his waist. He had just gotten out of the hospital after being there for a month getting part of his small intestine removed. He was (easily) 50 pounds thinner. He's 30 years old.
That said, he NEVER did what he was supposed to when I was living in the same house. As in, he didn't take care of himself. He wouldn't follow the proper diet, take his pills etc.
So yes, I do agree that it can be dire. It can also be manageable. It's up to the person.

Actually, Chron's is a really serious disease for some. I have a relative with it and has his entire rectum removed and closed. A girlfriend of mine had the same thing happen - she almost died from the first attack and was hospitalized for 8 weeks. Chron's is so much more than IBS and can change people's lives completely.

As someone with Chrons it's a total cunt of a disease. I've had it since I was twelve. I had to quit my job and I've had to put off school recently for it. I get IV transfusions every six weeks, I've had four blood transfusions an an iron transfusion. And mines not even a bad case of it.
That being said I call total bullshit on this. A woman lost her life because of this drunk bitch. Chrons or no Chrons she should have to pay for what she did. Fuck her and that judge.
Like someone said earlier in the posts if she really cared about her daughter then this twat wouldn't drive drunk.

Oh, I have no tolerance for drunk drivers who kill people. I'm sorry, I know some people here have DUIs and whatever. My rage is especially directed against those who take lives. And drunk drivers somehow ALWAYS survive.

I've known people with probabtion longer than that for just being around when someone else comitted a crime, I know people with probations longer than that for stealing christmas lights and getting into fights. But 3 years for murder??? I was thinking 10 at least....

I read some of the comments on the local papers' website when this trial was going on....
Her husband very vocally blames another driver who was following her after witnessing her hit a parked car, and she was driving recklessly because she was scared.
He was actually calling for charges to be filed against the person following her.

She must have gotten a shitty attorney, because here in Texas, my ex got in an accident and killed a 4th grader, and ended up with probation. Only after he violated probation, he got 3 years.
Shouldn't she get MORE time for giving her daughter Chrons disease?!?!?!?! It's not like her being out drinking helps her daughter. WTH!! 3 years for killing someone. That's just not right.
