Hugh Jackman On How He And His Wife Coped With Her Multiple Miscarriages
Well, there's a headline that makes you wish you kept a fluffy kitten in your bottom desk drawer so you have something adorable to hug when you're feeling emotions.
Lifetime panty creamer Hugh Jackman was on Katie Couric's show (via UsWeekly) yesterday and the entire episode wasn't full of him singing show tunes while wearing wet swim trunks. Katie's producers have got to do better. Instead of doing the one-man Les Miserables while only wearing panties, Hugh got serious with Katie and told her why he and his wife Deborra Lee-Furness never had biological children. Hugh says that they tried many times, but after trying IVF and suffering through several miscarriages, they decided to adopt. The greatest Australia next to Brynne Gordon (she counts!) said this:
"To be clear, Deb and I always wanted to adopt. So that was always in our plan. We didn't know where in the process that would happen but biologically obviously we tried and it was not happening for us and it is a difficult time. We did IVF and Deb had a couple of miscarriages. I'll never forget it the miscarriage thing -- it happens to one in three pregnancies, but it's very very rarely talked about. It's almost secretive, so I hope Deb doesn't mind me bringing it up now. It's a good thing to talk about it. It's more common, and it is tough. There's a grieving that you have to go through.
Many of you are parents, you guys know you can't prepare for that moment. Nothing can prepare you. You can't even explain how incredible it is and that avalanche of emotion that comes and how it opens up your heart, how it frustrates you, how it angers you, how everything is just all the sudden how alive you are as a parent."
There's been blind items that pretty much suggest that Hugh and Deborra are the sane version of John Travolta and Kelly Preston. They love each other, are wonderful parents and every now and again he passes his peen to man ass. I'm going to need to see HD video (preferably with a soothing soundtrack) of this or see it with my own brown eye before I can confirm it as true fact. I like them, Maybe Hugh has Mommie issues seeing as his own mom walk out on their family when he was 7, maybe searching for a mother figure, you know what they say apparently every man marries someone like their mother.

He has told this story & the one about his mom (his bio mom, not Deb) so many times it's embarrassing. This is obviously part of a sick campaign tactic for Oscars (planned from beginning to end) but also i think he is trying to stamp out the gay rumors.
He's so gay I think he even has a boyfriend (husband?) I used to think he was ok but now..... I don't admire Hugh Jackman. He's a phony!

I think he is either gay or bisexual. Nothing is wrong with that. However, I am just not quite sure why his wife would not want someone who wants her completely - sexually and mentally. It's odd.
I imagine that he is a great guy. The money must be AMAZING. Most likely, she has a man on the sly...I cannot imagine that she does not have SOME kind of urges.
The only thing that bums me out about this is why he cannot just be gay. SO what? I think the problem is that he would not get the same roles if he was openly gay. That's a shame. It would be nice to see everyone become more enlightened.

His WIFE? She looks like she could be his youngish looking mother. Looked it up and she's 13 years older, but she looks a little older than 57 (~65ish) so that doesn't help either. AWKWARD. Well given that he married her when she was 41 I think the odds of having children together were obviously slimmer even if they tried to have one right away. If you marry a cougar you better be prepared to adopt I guess.
Meh, as far as I'm concerned, you can't very well be a public figure and swipe our cash & praises without taking lip-service every once and a while. Afterall, audiences ultimately write paychecks for these celebrities anyways seeing as how studios won't shell out the dough for someone who doesn't deliver.

I do believe that Hugh Jackman is gay and therefore this is not an ordinary man-woman marriage. However, for whatever reason, their thing seems much more wholesome and functional than, say, Tom Cruise's serial "arrangements" or John T. and Kelly's creepy denial-fest. Hugh and Deborrah Lee clearly adore each other (regardless of whether or not they do sex) and are really good parents to their kids, and I like that. You don't see too many long term functional partnerships in the Hollywood community. Plus anyone who adopts gets major points from me.

They were married 16 years ago. I'm with Txn Doc, after 40 it becomes harder. Though I had a friend who was trying with his wife in their late 20's/early 30's, she had 3 miscarriages before she was 34. Tough stuff all the way around. They now have bio children but it was a hard road each time.
I agree that he seems family oriented and a nice guy. Still not going to waste money on Les Miz, though.
