Daddy’s Roommate, a chirrun’s book written by Michael Willhoite that explains gayness to kids. When it came out in 1991, many libraries banned it, because they suck. It’s also Sarah Palin’s favorite chirrun’s book and after watching a new episode of The New Normal, she reads it to her grandkid, Trapp (or Tron or Trugg or Trolalala or whatever that kid’s name is).

Not only is the cover a work of art, but the story is as well (click here to get it). Daddy and hipster mommy get a divorce and he moves in with his new “friend” and roommate. Daddy and his roommate do everything that couples do and daddy’s roommate even bonds with daddy’s son by reading him stories and helping him to catch bugs for his school science project. (Note to children: If for some strange reason I become your daddy’s roommate, I will NOT go to the pond and catch bugs with you. SICK! Screw that shit. That book is LYING when it comes to that shit. However, I will watch the Vh1 version of Showgirls with you and teach you how to do the Cabbage Patch.)

Daddy’s Roommate is not only a HSOTD because of daddy’s hot tank tops, but it’s also a HSOTD because of daddy’s man. Look at him. He looks like a skinny Mr. Belvedere who does all his shopping at Tommy Bahama’s. Daddy is lucky to have a roommate as hot as that.
