And Here's Jeremy Sisto As Jack From Titanic
Welcome to Weird-tanic! Population: This screen test.
Titanic came out on Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray today, and on it is a then 19-year-old Kate Winslet screen testing for the role which she eventually got opposite Jeremy Sisto (aka Elton from Clueless, Billy from Six Feet Under and George from Suburgatory) as the role Leonardo DiCatchAHo eventually got. Jeremy wasn't ever up for the role and was just helping James Cameron out, but it's still weird to watch. It's like if your 10-year-old self went into the kitchen one morning and sat down at the table across from a stranger bitch who isn't your father but tells you to call him your father. ("Oh, that used to happen to me all the time! It was no big deal." - Kate Hudson's son)
But really, James Cameron had the right idea by using Jeremy Sister as Jack and he should've given him the role and then cast Alicia Silverstone as Cher as Rose. It would've looked like this:
Jack: I want to paint you wearing this, only this.
Rose: As if! Like I'd really wear something from Judy's.
Rose's Mom: Come into the boat, Rose. Rose, get into the boat!
Rose: I can't! You don't understand, this is an Alaia.
Rose: Stay back! Don't come any closer! I'm going to jump!
Tai: As if. You're a virgin who can't dive.
AND Celine Dion could've done a cover of Rollin' with the Homies! If only.

God, Sisto looked amazing. But this scene was horribly awkward, and you can easily switch Rose with Bella.

Seriously? I never knew this. I love SMG. Alicia was pretty prefect as Cher but SMG would have been AMAZEBALLS as Juliette. Much better than that walking bowl of porridge Claire Danes. SMG would have been great as Viola in Shakespeare in Love. Come to think of it, Sisto would have been great as Shakespeare as well.

I love SMG too, but I don't know how I'd feel about her in a period piece she always has such a modern appeal in my mind. Alicia was so good as Cher it's hard to picture anybody else, but in the first few episodes of Buffy or in the flashbacks to when she was in LA I could see her as Cher.

Eh, this audition is sooo bad. Was the dialog this awful in the movie? I hardly remember. I liked it at the time. Kate looks uncomfortable with him. She looks like a nice girl going out on a blind date with a guy who can't wait to date-rape her.
Ugh, Leo used to be so fucking hot.
Titanic the movie is longer than it took the boat to actually hit the iceberg and sink.
I admit to seeing this in the theater five times. I loved it. Every. Single. Second. My older son with more autism issues loves it too. We have it in every configuration, wide screen VHS, letterbox VHS, several DVD sets, and my son has numerous books and Titanic models. He even plays the dang soundtrack. My husband and I still quote from this. If one of us is going upstairs, "I'm goin' back up!" is said in a working-class British accent like the elevator operator who left Rose to her doom.
Its gaping plot holes and maudlin/weak script are glaringly obvious to me now, but not so much then. Plus, Leo was so totally fuckable.

You lucky bastard! I never wanted to see it and had no intention of seeing it. But, then I went on this date with a chick I really wanted to fuck; so I was on my best behavior that nite. Did everything she wanted that nite, even complimenting her terrible cooking. I forced myself to say yes to watching Titanic, actually watching it and stifling my natural sarcasm.
It worked. We humped like greased weasels ALL Nite !!!! It was some good nookie; too bad she turned out to be unstable.
I've always liked Kate and I think she's gorgeous.

Kate was breathtakingly beautiful, imo. I cant believe she was only 19 there. I loved her when she was plump; I think she had more character and sincerity. It seemed when she lost weight, she got snotty and bland. :(
Glad Jeremy didn't get the part; he was a yawn fest. Leo was perfect in that role. :) I don't care for him much now, but he was handsome and romantic in the movie.

I have never seen Titanic; at least not all the way through. I have never had the desire to. I could only watch seconds of that. He gives me serial killer vibes.
I like Kate Winslet. I have to agree - she did appear to be much older than 19. I always thought she was lovely, however.
I like Jeremy Sisto. Not sure if he works in this role - he is meant for harder, more gritty roles. He works as a tough street cop, a villain, or some kind of bad-boy-turned-good. Whatever - he is hot. I definitely wouldn't kick him out of bed!

As for the guy, she out acts him, i believe he was auditioning for the role, but out of politeness to him as he lost the role they have said he never was up for it to save face so they could release it.
She is good, but she doesn't look 19 at all.
