Hi there, and thanks for asking.

Dad has been back home for about a week, recovering from surgery. The docs couldn't remove the carcinoid tumor. He had a major surgery a few years ago that took out a large portion of the intestine, so there just wasn't anything further that could be done. We don't know how long he will have, so we are just trying to keep him comfortable.

Was planning on going down to cook up a storm and stock the freezer earlier in the week. Then, I ended up getting attacked by some mystery bugs, and found my bitten-up ass in Urgent Care. I've been nearly knocked out by some pretty powerful antibiotics to the extent that I shouldn't be driving. So, I have had to try to walk Mom through some cooking directions over the phone, and try to grasp gluten-free cooking without ever having consciously cooked that way.

Hoping to make the drive in the next few days to get to the original plan. Thankfully, he is off of the gluten-free bit. He had a check-up the other day, and is healing very well, and every thing looks good at this point. So, keeping our fingers crossed, and taking one day at a time.

Liked Redford in The Natural and Out of Africa. That's about it. Like Brad Pitt, he was always better looking than a strong actor. Not sure about his directing, either, though they let anyone direct who has money, a reputation, and a baseball cap.

Can't remember the name of the movie he was in with Michele Pfeiffer, but there's this one scene where he's standing at the bottom of an escalator watching her go up. My friend and I looked at each other at the same time and said, "Holeee shit."
