Paperboy from the Paperboy video game!
Watching the trailer for that beautiful white trash extravaganza The Paperboy reminded me of the video game I played for hours upon hours as a kid and never ever won. I sucked at that shit. The Paperboy video game was released on Atari first, I think, but I had the Nintendo version. (Side note: Remember when your Nintendo game would freeze up and so you'd pull out the cartridge and blow on it, thinking there was dust or other shit caught inside of it? You thought you were a real technical genius for coming up with the blow method. Remember that? You don't? Okay, I guess it was just me then...)
The Paperboy video game was as basic as basic can be. You'd ride up the street and try to deliver newspapers while annoying hos like a runaway lawnmower and a brat on a Big Wheel got in your way. This is The Paperboy they should've made a full-length movie about. Zac Efron could've played the Paperboy, Nicole Kidman could've played a crazed horny slut who's always trying to piss on his face and Matthew McConaughey could've played himself, a Texas T-Rex who keeps trying to bite at Paperboy's back wheel. Make this happen, Hollywood!
In the meantime, hold your head as your mind boggles over Paperboy's Avatar-like special effects!

Ha! This was the worst game ever. And I would play it for hours. This and Excitebike were the most terrible games.
I'd get light-headed from all the blowing I did to those cartidges. Kids now have it so easy, lol.

The Nintendo cartridge dust-blow method still applies to this day, I blow inside my DVD player even, from time to time. That shit always worked for my Contra and Paperboy so why wouldn't it in other aspects of my life? Also I nominate for HSOTD the gold "super" Nintendo addition cartridge thing- it was like this smallish cartridge that was gold colored, and I feel like it helped with codes and "super-ing" lives or something. I Googled but didn't find anything, but I know it existed cause I owned one.

I never had any video games when I was young. Parents wouldn't let us get an Atari, Nintendo, whatever. I have heard of Pac Man, Galaga, Frogger, etc. Never heard of this game.

I think a tech started it in customer support. lol I hate when I call anyone for computer support and they throw the cache/cookie thing out there like you've never done it before.

I remember when the 8-track you were listening to eventually sounded like you were listening with pillows over the speakers and you had to find a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol and reach in and clean the gunk off the metal thing. Such crap those players were.

Don't remember this particular game but did practice the blow technique, and blew into the console too, fanned the cartridge cause it was hot etc...
My shit was "Captain Skyhawk" cause at 8-9 I was the best at it and would drive my brothers and cousins up the wall that a little girl was better than their douche in training asses. The idiots were awful at docking with the space stations and bombing the bases...CS, Zelda, and Final Fantasy were my shit.

Ha ha ha, yes! We had this on the Atari and I sucked at it. After a while I just tried to run over as many kids as possible or that guy breakdancing on the sidewalk.

OMG I'd totally forgotten about PaperBoy! I played that mess too, can't believe I only just found out if u hit the crazy stuff it stops. Also had no idea we were supposed to throw papers through the circles in the training area..geesh!
I used to rock at Paperboy! Only the arcade version though, the game console version I sucked at!

LOL My friends and I also used the "must blow dust out of cartridge" method. I had one of those special cleaning cartridges, too, but I was too lazy to use it.
