Neeeeeeeenah Garcia Is Really In Touch
Project Runway's Nina Garcia left a lovely "Note from the 1%" for her Twitter followers on Thursday when she told them about a must-have bag that will any cost them 3 paychecks AT MOST. Because Nina said "this IS the bag" and said it would last you a lifetime, you expect the link to lead you to a vintage Lisa Frank bubblegum duffel bag. Right? Right. But instead, Nina Garcia led her followers to a leather bag that is more overpriced than the leather bag slobbering over it:
Maybe it's because I don't carry a purse (shut up), but do you really need to spend three weeks salary on ANY purse? Can't you just grab a Hefty bag, roll it in glue and glitter, throw your shit in there and call it good? A Hefty bag covered in glitter is a lot hotter than most of the tired bags I've seen out there.
Nina's tweet sort of reminds me of this episode of Beverly Hills Teens where that hot bitch Bianca goes shopping at a new mall she's never been before. Bianca pulls up to a mall that is so tall it reaches the clouds and she says, "Oh, how cute, one of those new mini malls!"
And right after GOOPY Paltrow read Nina's tweet, she said out loud, "A FEW weeks salary? As in more than two? I knew there were poor people out there, but I didn't know they were THAT poor. What a world." Because of Nina's tweet, GOOPY is going to donate a few of the Birkins she keeps her recyclables in to the less fortunate. So Nina Garcia's clueless tweet did some good. See!

Thanks so much, Ebil! It was pretty sad this year, with the exception of my wonderful Mr AC. There's all sorts of serious stuff going on and didn't feel like celebrating. Plus, I was super sick and had to cancel our dinner res at my favorite restaurant--and it's the one time he'll take me and not complain about it being way over-priced. So I decided a re-do was in order this year, I'm thinking September. And I guess it still makes me 32?

That said, I dont know one person that doesn't like Obama because he's half black. That is so 1965. Yes, there are some racist crazies but they are NOT the majority.
I'll tell you what my problem is, the hypocrisy I see with liberals. They bashed Bush relentlessly (Dixie Chics, Greenday, etc did this on a public platform OVERSEAS) yet no one accused them of doing it because he was "white".
Liberals cried out that Bush was bringing us in debt, yet Obama has more than tripled what he did in 8 years..and Obama has done it in three. We cannot dig ourselves out of this hole. The main problem is our economy, price of gas, unemployment, cost of living, etc.
Obama did NOTHING to better these causes but put his sole focus on one "legacy" issue- health care. His people (I'm sure) pushed him to make one dent to get himself in the history books and failed miserably. There aren't more jobs (employment is down), education isn't better, the deficit is at an all time low since he entered office (in history!!), gas is higher than when Bush was in office.
Obama's answer to all this is give the government more money by writing checks to themselves. Anyone can see this logic doesn't work. Social security is failing, Medicare is screwed up. But we want to buy the notion that the government can all save us? Yea, no.
The political machine can derail the REAL issues by getting you all riled up over gay marriage or stem cell research or gun control. When the fact is we don't have a leg to stand on, as big government has shady dealings with big corporations. They have their hand in Obama's pockets, just as much as was in Bush's.
But we'll see leftists talking about Obama supports gays (he doesn't btw) and pushing for his vote this next election.
You can't talk common sense into most people, as I've learned common sense is very rare. Obama has proven to be another Carter, whose best known project as our country's leader was starting the Homestead project for families. Sadly Obama hasn't even paved the way in the smallest of ways. Clinton might've been getting bj's on the side, but he started the Welfare to Work program and tried to help welfare recipients get much needed work history and education.

Hey there. I'm going strictly based on what I've observed. There are people who didn't vote for him because he is black and there are people who hate him because they think he's Muslim and wasn't born here. The former he can't help (nor would he if he could) and the latter is just false.
But I too hate so much of what this country has become although I don't and won't put it all at President Obama's doorstep. Everyone on Capitol Hill is only out for themselves and what they can do for their own agendas. The fact that a lot of them do hate the president stems directly from his race and his name even if they wouldn't dare publicly admit it. But let's remember that he doesn't make policy - Congress does. Of course, he can veto any bill that crosses his desk but the fact is he has not exercised that power much at all.
I don't mind a healthy debate and if someone has a valid reason for disliking President Obama, I have no problem listening. I'm not closed-minded. If someone is wrong and you can calmly show them why without condemning them, they will usually thank you for your input. What I do have a problem with is the ones who blindly and ignorantly and stubbornly believe any crackpot theory just to slam him. Those people you can explain until you're blue in the face what's wrong with their argument and you can even show them empirical evidence to back yourself up but they will never change their opinion because of their hatred. It's like trying to tell a Brangeloonie that Jolie and Pitt are not gods. It won't compute.
Dogs are awesome. We currently have four but I wouldn't ever do this again. We also have other furry friends (and some with scales and some with feathers) so it gets a bit much.

I was a teacher and that was more than a half a year's salary at the end of 25 years! Anywho, I don't care if anyone buys that bag...I am not envious or jealous in the least. Dog, I am a fan and I appreciate your response to my questioning of things. I do take exception to this statement though Dog. I am a conservative woman that does not agree with everything on
the republican platform. Most conservatives would call me a Rhino (another word I detest) That does not mean I hate our current president. I completely disagree with his agenda for the future of our country. True hatred is really an awful thing. Fear would be the word I'd use to describe my feelings about this current admin.
Fear of socialism or socialism lite. This scares me more than anything else that I am for or against. I am not racist and most Repubs that I know are not racists. Sure, there are some out there and they are very vocal on the web but truly, for most of us on the right we are normal, middle class and very caring people.

Omg Dog, Lisa Frank school supplies were the SHIT when I was growing up. A poster here has a Lisa Frank avie, but I can't remember who - it's two unicorns dancing over a rainbow.
