Concert Promoters Won't Let Bruce Springsteen And Paul McCartney Be Great
At the very end of Bruce Springsteen's 3 hour-long set at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London's Hyde Park last night, panties blew off of overexcited crotches when Paul McCartney came out to yodel and twerk his ass next to The Boss for two songs. Bruce said that he's been waiting 50 years to perform on stage next to Paul McCartney. They finished "I Saw Her Standing There" together and as they sang out "Twist & Shout," the show's promoters issued a STFU notice on them by turning off their mics. The promoters didn't worn a ho or scream at Bruce to pull his cheeks together and cut it short. They just muted a bitch like that. After some people called the silencing of The Boss and McCartney a blasphemous sin, the organizers said that they had to do it, because the clock struck 10:30 and that's the time the city told them to kill the fun or they'd get a fine. Live Nation, the show's organizers, issued this statement of words to The Guardian:
"It was unfortunate that the three hour-plus performance by Bruce Springsteen was stopped right at the very end but the curfew is laid down by the authorities in the interest of the public's health and safety."
But Stevie van Zandt of the E-Street Band wasn't taking that excuse and tweeted on and on about being muzzled:
One of the great gigs ever in my opinion. But seriously, when did England become a police state? We break curfews in every country but only English cops needs to "punish us" by not letting us leave until the entire crowd goes. Is there just too much fun in the world? We would have been off by 11 if we'd done one more. On a Saturday night! Who were we disturbing? The cops got nothing more important to do? How about they go catch some criminals instead of fucking with 80,000 people having a good time? English cops may be the only individuals left on earth that wouldn't want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney! I'm sorry but I have to be honest I'm pissed. Like I said, it didn't ruin the great night. But when I'm jamming with McCartney don't bug me! If it's a public transport issue I'm sorry but people are adult enough to go get a train if they need to without the cops pulling the plug!
Something in the milk ain't clean about this shit. I bet Live Nation isn't spitting up the whole story. Why do I have a feeling that 10 seconds after the music died, Heather Mills was seen hopping away with a cuntified smile of victory on her face and a fake backstage pass in her hand. That bitch never stops!

@ Sal....you're never budding in here LOL, it's all good. I try and listen to new music and keep up but there is a certain pop sound I just can't with. The Katy Perry's and RIhannas of the world just bug the shit out of me.
Again I'm on my BB so loon hunting can be frustrating it's taken me 20min to get 3 comments to load on that site if it's running slow on me. I will poke my head in there later so if you're there I'll say hi lol!

LOL when I said I listened to modern music I didn't mean the pop hos either.
Off topic/ One of the loons came up with a new alt ironically named "Sal" (they were obviously trying to mock me). Even if you can't post, just check out the things it's saying. It's strange that a "new" poster knows who you are. You'll be amused. :)

Oh hell ya, DiamondDogs! Read somewhere that he said his character is going to be even worse and he lost all sympathy for him somewhere in the season (naturally he didn't say why). Can't wait to see how he could be even worse. Last season's end was so excellently gross and awesome, too.

He'd been playing since about 7:30pm, right? People got their show, right? What am I missing?
Maybe those old goats need a little humbling now and again. :P No, not a fan.
Someone asked what concerts end at 10:30pm....Serj Tankian! He started between 8-8:30pm and was done by 10:30pm. I was glad not to have to pay the babysitter extra money but that was rather quick. Scars on Broadway ended at 11:30-ish but maybe that's more normal (I don't get out much).

I haven't read through all the replies yet, but why didn't the concert promoters know about the curfew? If they did, then why didn't they tell Bruce and Paul about it?
---
I would get guess that they knew about it, how else would they get permits? The thing is, they probably thought that in the case of two superstars like Macca and Springsteen, the authorities would not dare "pull the plug" on them.

I loved them as well. Madonna is sussposed to be there soon as well, and she's notorious for starting her set an hour late. Wonder how that will go over when she gets the plug pulled on her?

Must be to keep the noise level down in cities. I've heard all the noise in crowded places can drive peeps nutso over time. Down here we like to rock it all night long! But most of the time it is super quiet except for the tree frogs.

I suggest not seeing a show in Orange County, CA. They have a curfew too. Went to see Queens of the Stone Age a few years ago and was surprised when the show, with three other bands opening, was over by 10 PM! WTF!

Jazz and blues, another of my favorites. I have a pretty varied taste. I listen to everything from Mozart to Bluegrass. Not really too fond of rap, although I do like R&B, and the hillbilly country sound if you know what I mean there.
And Whamo...I have every Bowie *vinyl" from 'David Bowie' to 'Young Americans'. So, yeah him too.
Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Van Morrison....too many. =P

Just curious, who is everyone's fav songwriter(s)?
Mine would be Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Neither are strong vocalists but both have written some amazing songs.
____________
Oh, I love Leonard Cohen, too. Favorite songwriter? Lord, that is hard. Too many to choose from! Those Pink Floyd songs have always gotten to me since I was a wee child. Of course, the Beatles. Bob Marley. Definitely Dylan, though I like the remakes of his songs better than when he does them, which is my same feeling about the Rolling Stones. Tori Amos. Carole King. I could go on and on. God, I love music so much!
edit: Oooh, Genesis, yes!
edit: And The Clash! Sex Pistols! OK, Imma stop now.
