By now, I'm sure all of you have already ground all your teeth up and punched your laptop screen while watching the videos of Karen Huff Klein, a 68-year-old bus monitor for the Greece Central School District in Rochester, NY, getting verbally attacked by a group of demon middle schoolers from the dirty anus lips of HELL. If you haven't seen any of the videos and can stomach watching corroded asshole children call a grandma a "fat, ugly, poor troll" and threaten to piss on her doorstep, then watch this shit below. Even Lucifer was like "too far, too far" when Karen started crying and a brat said she was just crying for Twinkies.
When I first watched this at Towleroad yesterday morning, I wanted to go back in time, morph into Karen and beat all of those demons with their own shoes. Then I'd tell the driver to drive to each of those kids' houses so I could beat their parents with their shoes.
From what I've read on HuffPo, the clip first showed up on Reddit about a day ago and within hours Redditors identified the specific school and sent emails to the district. Reddit (or maybe 4 Chan) also identified Karen and sent supportive notes to her Facebook page. By the afternoon, it already went massively viral and the school district held a press conference where they said they would punish all students involved. The Greece Police Department opened up their own investigation and questioned several of the students.
Karen gave an interview to Democrat and Chronicle yesterday and she told them that since she's hearing impaired, she didn't hear a lot of the shit nuggets of hate that flew out of those kids' mouths as they said it. But she heard it all when she watched the clips. Karen said that the hardest thing to hear was one kid saying that her children should kill themselves, because her son took his life 10 years ago. On Today this morning, Karen says she hopes the students are punished and so far none of them have apologized to her. Karen has worked for the district for over 20 years and has been a bus monitor for 3. Karen plans to continue to work in the school system, because she says not all kids are evil.
A fundraiser was set up to give Karen a dream vacation or help with retirement. When I checked yesterday afternoon, it was at $30,000 and when I checked again last night, it was at around $80,000. It's at $140,000 as of right now. The man who set up the page is currently trying to pass control over to Karen. Matt Lauer told Karen about the fundraiser and she says all the warm support from the Internet has been awesome.
In conclusion: Middle school kids are THE WORST. All those brats should be sent to abuelita summer camp where the power of the chancla will teach them to respect their elders.

We didn't even have bus monitors (we had "riders with privileges" aka snitches who loved their jobs because they got to drink sodas and eat) but of course we had bullies - and they left the snitches alone because they knew they weren't fucked up about telling on them. It is no surprise to see a 14 year old acting an asshole to an old woman, but it's a surprise that she and the bus driver were so disconnected that she couldn't take names and numbers, sit the assholes with the little girls in the front for the remainder of the ride/year, or assign her own bus snitches with benefits. The pack mentality breaks up very quickly when you set up a plan and turn kids against themselves with hierarchy structure. In the meantime, this woman did her bid and deserves an out. Next year bring in someone with a plan to literally sit these dumbasses in their place until they get to school or back home to the parents who can't stand them around either.

Didn't she have some sort of recourse as a monitor? Couldn't she have issued some sort of punishment? You can't let kids get away with the first thing, because they'll just keep pushing it. I'm guessing it took them a while to work themselves up to this level of obnoxiousness - - this clearly wasn't the first time this happened. I get that some people are too timid to throw down on a bunch of middle school bullies, but then maybe you shouldn't be a bus monitor. Not that I don't feel bad for her, because I feel awful and I couldn't even watch that video. Glad it is coming to light and these kids are going to get some sort of punishment.

Reading some of the comments, I don't think it's fair to blame Karen. She's the one being bullied here. Just because she's a monitor doesn't mean she can control what these brats say, and it would seem she was trying to ignore that shit so they might quit. These assholes were unfortunately relentless in their cruelty.
I also think she's not getting a handout. People have chosen to donate to her, through no fault of her own. People are free to give to whom they want, and if her story touches folks, why not? No, money can't take away what happened, but it may soothe some of her wounds. People suffer all the time, true, but it's nice to hear when someone else's suffering is recognized and possibly helped.
I really am scared for humanity now, though.

Since I've gone through this kind of Ninth Circle of Hell training, do I get a college scholarship or something, because she CHOSE to be on that bus. Man, those were formative years... too bad they were horrible.

Fuck these shits. Middle school kids are the worst. Lots of boys I knew in middle school were such little sociopaths, I just made myself invisible so they wouldn't notice me.
I'm glad bullying is getting attention now because we need to do something about this shit. I don't know if it's become worse since I was a kid, but it could be since we're raising a bunch of entitled narcissistic little assholes. Parents and teachers also tend to look the other way at this kind of behavior, and if anything, the ostracized student is the one who is antagonized. I get scared because my little boy has autism, is very high functioning, but painfully shy and sticks out in a crowd. Crossing fingers he gets through school without getting repeatedly shit on like this...

A friend of mine is a middle school principal and she says the parents are the worst of the lot; if there is a problem, it is never their fault or their child's fault, it is the school's fault. She can't wait to quit and she is an amazing educator and good-hearted person.

My mother is a youth sports instructor for the YMCA. Last year she ran a tournament where the top 3 kids got medals (a la the Olympics) and the rest of the participants who didn't place got cookies and rice krispie treats. Wouldn't you know that same night she got calls from multiple parents DEMANDING to know why ALL the kids weren't awarded medals simply for being in the tournament. My mother tried to explain that wouldn't be fair to the kids who worked hard and earned the top slots but they were still pissed off and comlained to the director.
And we wonder why this country is fucked. I told my mother don't do shit anymore for those ungrateful bastards. Do your job, collect a check and call it a day.

When I was in the 5th grade, a few of my classmates were picking on a kid in grade 1 or 2 during lunch. Me and my BFF heard them and threatened to beat the shit out of them if they didn't leave the kid alone, and WE got in trouble. My teacher told my mom about it, and she actually praised me for defending the kid. To this day I am proud of that story, I would gladly catch hell for defending someone else, any day, any time.
God willing their bus will get stuck in a snowbank during the next Rochester blizzard, and the bus driver & monitor will leave them there to freeze to death.

I don't recall what Greece was like but all of Rochester is pretty middle class. But, kids are tough up there. When I moved to another state and there were boy cheerleaders I thought, Rochester kids would have run them out of the school.
Didn't mean to smack single parents as not all are bad, but just the logistics of it. Kids are home dealing with life by themselves or being raised by older siblings, etc etc.
Seriously thinking of leaving education ...schools are being forced to raise these little monsters as parents are defaulting on their responsibility.

I'm not even going to watch the video b/c this shit pisses me off SO bad.
I remember having to ride the bus in middle school and that crap was the worst time of my life. Not all the kids were bad, but most of them were just the scum of the fucking earth. Pieces of shit kids that probably grew up to be pieces of shit adults that have a bajillion bratty kids themselves.

I use to work in middle school for a short time. It was a Catholic school too and the first day of work this little fucker slams me into a locker. The problem is if you try and discipline these kids the parents go ape-shit.
For the lack of pay and passion for the work, I got out after my contract was up. Let some other poor bastard deal with it.
I couldn't watch the video but I can only comment that I hope this woman gets a fine financial outpouring for this because I highly doubt those kids will have any remorse or shame for what they did.

Mr. Sally and I do not spank or hit the Pink Princess, because other forms of discipline work for her. This is just horrible. It really made me upset to watch it. I was bullied viciously in school and it kind of brought a lot of that back. Anyway long story short after school I moved as far away from my hellish small town andI worked hard at university, traveled the world, became a model, worked in the humanitarian field for a few years and just recently got a doctorate in sociology. So fuck you bullies, I win.
Those kids should be whipped with a crow bar and then salted for that shit. It killed me when I read that her son killed himself. Just horrible.

She's only 31, has no large ISD experience, failed her cert exam - at least once, has terrible grammar, etc., yet she's getting paid... $185,000! $100,000 MORE than her previous job. The kicker? I was friends with this extremely nerdy girl - she was smart and nice and FUNNY AS HELL, and her parents were cool - at the beginning of the school year our sophomore year she approached the lunch table I was sitting at and asked if she could sit with us.
My friend told her there was no room. That was not true.
I kept my fool mouth shut.
Nerdy friend ended up sitting by herself.
I hated myself for that, and hope to get the opportunity to apologize for that someday.
