By now, I'm sure all of you have already ground all your teeth up and punched your laptop screen while watching the videos of Karen Huff Klein, a 68-year-old bus monitor for the Greece Central School District in Rochester, NY, getting verbally attacked by a group of demon middle schoolers from the dirty anus lips of HELL. If you haven't seen any of the videos and can stomach watching corroded asshole children call a grandma a "fat, ugly, poor troll" and threaten to piss on her doorstep, then watch this shit below. Even Lucifer was like "too far, too far" when Karen started crying and a brat said she was just crying for Twinkies.
When I first watched this at Towleroad yesterday morning, I wanted to go back in time, morph into Karen and beat all of those demons with their own shoes. Then I'd tell the driver to drive to each of those kids' houses so I could beat their parents with their shoes.
From what I've read on HuffPo, the clip first showed up on Reddit about a day ago and within hours Redditors identified the specific school and sent emails to the district. Reddit (or maybe 4 Chan) also identified Karen and sent supportive notes to her Facebook page. By the afternoon, it already went massively viral and the school district held a press conference where they said they would punish all students involved. The Greece Police Department opened up their own investigation and questioned several of the students.
Karen gave an interview to Democrat and Chronicle yesterday and she told them that since she's hearing impaired, she didn't hear a lot of the shit nuggets of hate that flew out of those kids' mouths as they said it. But she heard it all when she watched the clips. Karen said that the hardest thing to hear was one kid saying that her children should kill themselves, because her son took his life 10 years ago. On Today this morning, Karen says she hopes the students are punished and so far none of them have apologized to her. Karen has worked for the district for over 20 years and has been a bus monitor for 3. Karen plans to continue to work in the school system, because she says not all kids are evil.
A fundraiser was set up to give Karen a dream vacation or help with retirement. When I checked yesterday afternoon, it was at $30,000 and when I checked again last night, it was at around $80,000. It's at $140,000 as of right now. The man who set up the page is currently trying to pass control over to Karen. Matt Lauer told Karen about the fundraiser and she says all the warm support from the Internet has been awesome.
In conclusion: Middle school kids are THE WORST. All those brats should be sent to abuelita summer camp where the power of the chancla will teach them to respect their elders.

Personally, I would throw all of those kids out of the school AND fine their parents for raising animals.
My family grew up with chancletas flying and hair-a-pulling and NONE of us would have DARED to even consider treating someone like that; neither do my nieces and nephews - we teach them "do unto others as you would they unto you." I agree Doggy. I think it's a wrong approach rooted on sort of new-age parenting that says kids have to be rewarded no matter what, otherwise their self esteem will drop to the point of becoming druggies, dropouts or even worse, those kids who shoot their classmates.

Take it from someone who has worked many years with the school district, there is not much you can do in a situation like that. You'd have to at least have two monitors on that bus to control that type of behavior. She did the right thing, b/c the situation could have escalated and really gotten out of control, it could've gotten physically violent. And if that happened, you're then endangering every student on that bus. I know what you mean though, it's like, why can't she at least say STFU, but that's like putting fuel on fire to these kids.

As I said, I have also reviewed many a bus tape, and work in NY state, so I am familiar with the drill. Greece may be slightly different in their policies, but EVERY school district requires that incidents such as these be reported. She did not even do that-- this situation came to light because another juvenile posted it to the internet.
This lady was content to sit back and let herself and others be continually abused, while she was paid to do the exact opposite. Those kids are ignorant, spoiled and angry little people, and they need to be reprimanded. In the real world, however, so does she. Other children on that bus relied on her to DO HER JOB. She didn't.
If this was an isolated incident on a public bus where these little shitbuckets did this to her, she would have my every sympathy. Instead she was a paid school district employee who allowed these abuses to go on under her watch, and she is being rewarded for her inaction. It is simply astounding.

I didn't have the stomach to sit through the entire video. Only managed to watch 3 minutes and skipped to the end. It really ruined my morning.
I'm glad it backfired on their stupid smug faces. I can't imagine how long they would've pulled this shit for had they not been stupid enough to share this on FB.
For sure there will be a lot of finger pointing, e.g, bully #1 saying that bully #2 made him do it. These little assholes are pretty scared right now and rightfully so. They're only saying sorry now because they got caught.
This is no isolated/localized incident though; it happens everywhere around the world. School personnel are warned against defending themselves from spoiled brats like them. In the meantime, they won't get disciplined at home because their parents feel that spanking them is barbaric and archaic, so their means of punishing them is by taking away their computers/cell phones .
That's how they grow up to become entitled assholes. These little twats get away with it because if they feel threatened in any way, their parents will try to sue the school.
How many people are in this position right now, feeling incapable of fighting back because they are told they might lose their jobs? That is my question.

Where do i begin...someone called out this woman for not doing her job. Well, what about the idiot that assigned an elderly woman with a hearing problem to monitor a school bus full of middle school bullies? CLEARLY, if a bus has to have a paid monitor on the bus they knew there was a problem. I grew up in Rochester and we never had to have a friggin monitor on the bus.
Sadly, this woman needs a job and the school district was at fault for placing her in this position. But that's what school districts do...to get rid of some people they give them sh*tty jobs hoping they'll quit. I'm sure this wasn't her choice to do - but she's gotta pay her bills. She obviously knew the politics in her district and therefore had to *suck it up* or lose her job.
And why were these kids such little a@@holes? Because we are a country in a state of moral decay. Immigrants I have talked with at my school say the U.S. has such a horrible reputation overseas because they see what our T.V. shows promote (Miley ridiculing her dad, 2 and half "Dads") and they think that's who we are. My mother is a youth sports instructor for the YMCA. Last year she ran a tournament where the top 3 kids got medals (a la the Olympics) and the rest of the participants who didn't place got cookies and rice krispie treats. Wouldn't you know that same night she got calls from multiple parents DEMANDING to know why ALL the kids weren't awarded medals simply for being in the tournament. My mother tried to explain that wouldn't be fair to the kids who worked hard and earned the top slots but they were still pissed off and comlained to the director.

When I was in school, we got a medal or award for placing in the top 1-3 spots. If you did not place, OH WELL. That was the way it was. "Participation" awards were always seen as silly, and they were not given out often. I do not see why kids have to get these kind of awards?

Actually, partially yes. A strong tone never killed anyone, but something above a pathetic whisper would suffice. What she should have done actually far preceded this incident: she should have reported all of the other previous incidents that happened(by her own admission) she was clearly unable to handle. Before that, she never should have taken a job she coulld not handle--especially one where children rely on her.
I have no quibbles with a person who is on their own time who refuses to stand up for themselves or others. No one is forced to be a hero in this society. This woman chose a job where she was to monitor and respond to these types of incidents. She clearly sat there with a few whispered admonishments while these kids harrassed her and other children, and additionally never reported the problem, most probably out of fear of losing her job.
If this was a cop who was bullied by criminals, a fireman who refused to run into a blaze, or an EMT who refused to perform CPR, we'd be screaming for their heads. I realize she doesn't have the same powers as a cop, but she didn't even use the ones she had. That is incompetence.
She was a monitor whose job was to observe, assert authority when necessary and MONITOR these children. She did none of that and people are rewarding her for doing nothing. As I said before if you changed this video in one way and made it a child who was bullied while she sat by and did nothing, the reaction would be a complete 180.
In my profession I have seen school bus videos regularly where there were good and bad monitors. However, most of them handled that type of situation much more effectively than this woman.

I think humiliating them with community service, such a picking up trash and roadkill on the highway, is an EXCELLENT IDEA. Shaming them in front of their friends will help that situation. Everyone always thinks that kids need their hands held, that they need so much compassion. This is true, but only to a fault. Kids need to learn some kind of respect, and some kind of order. If you teach them that they can do whatever they want, that will carry into their adulthood. I see some future convictions in their future.

The one thing my old man couldn't tolerate was if I went along with a group and picked on someone. I would rather go home and tell him I was a heroin addict that robbed a bank, then to have been a part of something like this. He would have thought I was as low down as it gets.

She was the bus monitor for crying out loud! You talk to someone like that who outranks you in the military and guess what happens? The same should happen in "civilian" life (no pun re the word civilian)These kids need to know the rules of life, they are the in the lower end of the chain of command in life. Too bad. They need to know what kind of speech can land you in prison. And for the school: these kids made threats! young or not they MUST be taken out of that school with behavior details on their academic records. There are restraining orders on people who make threats etc, and here you are gonna keep a kid around in the same school and district with a history of demonic behavior because he's a kid. I think NOT!

My niece was threatened in school by some mean kids. They told her that they were going to "kill her". They followed her home and made some pretty aggressive moves. If they were adults, just a FEW years older, they would get slapped with a restraining order. In some instances, they would be arrested. This is a ridiculous thing. Parents need to bring out the whip and really teach these kids that consequences arise for insubordination. When you do something wrong, especially when you know you are doing it, should be punished with a stiff fine. Don't teach them now, and they will become the crappiest adults ever.
Most people who think bullying is something to be tolerated were bullies themselves, and probably still are.
I hope she gets a million dollars and moves to Hawaii.

When I was in middle school, which was not really that long ago, you did not talk to someone like this. Not an elder. Maybe kids would tease each other, yes, but NOT disrespect to an elder person. Sheesh. Picking on a 60+ year old lady? REALLY?!? You are that bored and that pathetic?
I saw a comment on Facebook regarding discipline among kids. My sister has a daughter that is about 17 now, and a younger daughter that is about 12 years old. The discipline is just NOT there. Some of the stuff these kids pull I could have NEVER gotten away with. My parents would have had my ass in a sling. What the hell happened to discipline these days? I am not saying you should downright abuse a kid, but I think a well-placed slap sends a good message.
I am not a parent, so I do not know. However, all I know is that this kind of behavior is absolutely disgusting. Kids grow up to be pretty crappy adults...ones I do not want to work with.
